PA Classic 7v7: Team DM Elite Breakdown

They made it all the way to the Quarterfinals without losing a game, and in that round lost to the eventual champions by only 2points, playing them closer than any other team did all tournament. DM Elite is mainly comprised of talent from Delaware and should not be slept on. From play one of the playoffs on Sunday, Darius streaked down the sideline past the defense for a long TD, setting the standard for the day ahead. He consistently was able to get over top the defense and speed past defenders for long receptions and scores. I can confidently say that he probably had double digit TD receptions on the weekend and was one of the top performers of the whole tournament. He did a great job of seeing the field, naturally going through his reads and moving his eyes. Derian showed the ability to change speeds on the ball; putting it on a rope with velocity or getting it up &amp; down and dropping it in a bucket for receiver. Displays the arm strength needed to make all the throws, push it vertically down the field and fit the ball into tight windows. He gets the ball out quick and the pass is clean coming out of his hand. A mobile QB, Derian can roll out and throws well on the run, as well as being a dynamic running threat when it comes to the real thing in the fall. He is a twitchy player with quick hips, able to change direction quickly and make strong breaks on the ball. Physical as well, he plays bigger than his size and showed the ability to press/jam and then turn and run with the receiver. With shifty feet, he is able to stay in phase with wideouts and take them out of the game. Keyon didn't have a ton of PBU/INTs during the tournament mainly because he had tight coverage on who ever he was guarding so the ball never came his way. Firstly, with his size and length Damon had some big TD catches streaking down the middle as well as mossing defenders in the endzone. However what caught my attention the most was how he was always making the needed play. Every time DM Elite needed a first down, Damon got open for the catch. On defense, every time they needed a third down stop, he was there to break up the play or stop the receiver short of the line to get. Damon is a smooth fluid player who can breakdown and change direction well, quick to see the play develop and close on the ball. He showed consistent &amp; strong hands going up to snatch it out the air and I don't think I saw him have a drop all weekend long.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">An impressive weekend from Damon that showed he can make an impact in multiple ways. A menace at DB getting PBUs, Camryn displays good ball skills and uses his length well. Very smooth and fluid in his backpedal he is very rarely out of position or off balance when it comes time to make a play on the ball. He showcased that skill set by breaking under the receiver to get a big time INT in their second rd playoff game on Sunday to basically secure DM Elite the victory. A top level athlete, he was mismatch for any LB and most DBs who tried to cover him in space. Makai had no problem getting himself open in the flats for quick passes and YAC. On multiple occasions he would blow by the defender up the sideline for long completions shows off his burst and speed.
