Overview: Walker is a big tailback who can scoot. With a lineman pulling in front of him, he sets up his blocks and bursts through the hole. And once he gets a crease, his straight line speed at that size makes him hard to bring down. With that forward momentum, Walker is effective in short yardage or goal line situations and he can break off long runs. His blocking is a valuable part of his game because he can be the lead blocker in two-back sets and pick up blitzes in pass protection. Walker projects as a bell-cow back in a man and/or gap blocking scheme.

Makai Walker Makai Walker 5'11" | 220 lbs | RB Middletown (DE) | 2026 State MD is a physical, downhill runner who thrives on contact and excels at getting vertical in a hurry. Built with a sturdy frame and a powerful lower body, Walker consistently breaks through arm tackles and finishes runs with authority. His blend of agility, balance, and strength makes him a threat both in tight quarters and in the open field.

What separates Walker from other backs is his unpredictability once he reaches the second level. He can lower his shoulder and initiate contact or make defenders miss with a sudden cut or fluid juke, often maintaining top-end speed through his transitions.

Currently holding 10 Division I offers, including from programs such as Morgan State, Coastal Carolina, Cincinnati, and West Virginia, Walker enters his senior year as one of the more intriguing power runners in the region. He puts in work between the tackles but can also bounce it outside and turn the corner with authority. Size-wise, Walker already has the build of a college-ready power back. I’m impressed with how he gets to top speed quickly for a back of his size. Walker routinely runs through tackles at both the first and second levels. He’s a physical runner who absorbs hits and keeps going. Walker shows in his highlights that he can change direction (when he makes cuts) without losing momentum. A couple of plays in his highlights also show his effectiveness as a blocker.

Big plays and runs are also a part of his game. He has multiple runs of 25-plus yards in his highlights, showing he can get yardage in chunks. As with his teammate, Amare Glover Amare Glover 6'0" | 205 lbs | RB Middletown (DE) | 2026 State MD , there’s not a lot of film of him catching passes. That’s no fault of his own. Like Glover, he’ll be able to showcase that part of his game in prospect camps in the upcoming months.

It’s not always easy for a RB to stand out in 7v7 but Makai was more than effective receiver out of the backfield on the weekend. A top level athlete, he was mismatch for any LB and most DBs who tried to cover him in space. Makai had no problem getting himself open in the flats for quick passes and YAC. On multiple occasions he would blow by the defender up the sideline for long completions shows off his burst and speed. It’s no surprise he’s a multi offer Power 4 prospect because he certainly looked like one this past weekend.
