With the recent 2028 rankings update that released, I take a look at some of the top 2028 QBs from said rankings. Most of these QBs played as Freshman and a lot of potential in this group, these are names to know now.

Carlos is a player I've seen since he was in 8th grade, watched him develop and am confident in saying he is the #1 QB in his class at this stage. He is set to take over the reins at Loyola as the starter going forward after getting some varsity snaps last fall.

Carlos is coming into his own body wise, growing a few inches since this time last year. You see his frame developing with wide shoulders, long arms and the muscle/strength coming on. He plays with a great understanding of the offense, able to read the field well and holds a high football IQ. Also displays nice footwork mechanics, keeping his feet under him for a strong base and stepping into his throws. His arm strength is continuing to improve as well, he gets nice zip and velocity on this throws and the his ability to push the ball vertically is improving by the months as he is just naturally getting stronger and stronger. Carlos is no statue in the pocket either. He has great awareness & mobility back there able to avoid the rush, extend the play and throws well on the run. I look forward to seeing Carlos have a full season at Loyola this fall and expect big things from him.

Jameson started all year for Howard as a freshman putting up impressive numbers, recording over 1,400 yds passing with 13 TDs. He comes in as the #3 overall prospect with high upside going forward.

I saw him live in his first ever start against Hodgson (DE) this past fall, and while the game didn't go their way Jameson made sure you noticed him with his play that day. Jameson shows a nice live arm and good strength, throwing a pretty deep ball that allows the receiver to run under it. He reads the field well and get the ball out quick. He sees his option open and does not wait to pull the trigger, getting to his playmakers and letting them do the rest. Showing good mobility, Jameson can move the pocket and scramble for yards. While also being effective in roll outs and throwing on the run. With a full year of reps under his belt already, don't be shocked if Jameson has a big sophomore season and is one of Delaware's top QBs.

Samuel is a 2028 QB with impressive size and build already, standing 6'3" 185 he has the prototype frame. After getting reps at Gwynn Park, he looks to have transferred to Dunbar (DC) for the 2025 season, likely stepping in as their starter going forward.

Makins shows impressive arm strength for a freshman. Able to really push it vertically outside the hashes or down the seam. You see some good zip/spin on his passes hitting his receivers open. Samuel also displays good footwork/mechanics in the pocket. Stepping into his throws and standing tall to push the ball down field. A lot of potential and nice physical tools in Samuel's game and certainly one to watch in 2025.

Presley is a QB at South River having to wait his turn for the starting role but a player I have seen in person and has nice skill set for the future. He has a good size at 6'1" 180+ and a strong build and frame. Physically he looks the part and that should only continue to improve. He's got the arm strength and well rounded mechanics to develop into a playmaking QB. A solid athlete as well, he can get the job done with his legs too. Still one for the future still but I like Presley's overall potential down the road.

Carter had a strong showing for St. Frances this past fall and a player I can't wait to see more of in the future. He shows a live arm, the ball flies off his hand with a smooth release and nice spin. Carter throws a pretty deep ball, can push it vertically with some nice velocity getting it up and down well. With a quick release and good understanding of the offense, Carter gets the ball to his playmakers. He shows nice accuracy for a freshman, putting the ball only where his guys can get it on some tough throws. He likes to be a solid athlete as well, can get this feet going and extend the play and scramble.

Interesting in seeing Carter develop over the years as I see a skill set in his game that could lead to him making strong jumps in these rankings in the future.
