Samuel Makins: Long-Frame Passer with Vertical Precision
At 6’3″ and 185 pounds, Samuel Makins already possesses the long, athletic frame coveted by college programs. On film, he makes attacking vertical routes look effortless, consistently delivering strikes up the hashes and dropping deep balls into windows.
Makins also shows a natural ability to extend plays, keeping his eyes downfield while evading pressure and making pinpoint throws on the move. His blend of size, arm talent, and poise outside the pocket gives him the tools to be a dangerous dual-threat passer in the passing game, and with continued development, his stock could rise quickly among recruiters.

Samuel is a 2028 QB with impressive size and build already, standing 6’3″ 185 he has the prototype frame. After getting reps at Gwynn Park, he looks to have transferred to Dunbar (DC) for the 2025 season, likely stepping in as their starter going forward.
Makins shows impressive arm strength for a freshman. Able to really push it vertically outside the hashes or down the seam. You see some good zip/spin on his passes hitting his receivers open. Samuel also displays good footwork/mechanics in the pocket. Stepping into his throws and standing tall to push the ball down field. A lot of potential and nice physical tools in Samuel’s game and certainly one to watch in 2025.
