The KLAA is chock-full of big school programs with championship aspirations. If we did rankings for the best teams in the state, several KLAA teams would undoubtedly be ranked high. Today, we're looking at a few of the best in the East.

Dearborn is one of the most under-appreciated programs in Division 1. For quite a few years now, they've been a top-15 team.

Nayef is one of the many reasons why Dearborn is a consistent playoff team. This is an off-ball outside linebacker with a ton of range, physicality, plus some smarts. A lot of teams struggle to defend screens / runs outside the tackles. That said, a lot of teams would love a guy like Nayef on their squad.

Probably ranked a little low right now. I could absolutely see Nayef finding success this offseason.

You think Belleville isn't going to compete for State Championships now that their star QB is graduated? Think again. As long as they've got guys like [player_tooltip player_id='1613940' first='Shaun' last='Reid'], Belleville should remain at the top for a while.

I had the chance to watch Shaun during Week 1 of last season. For one, his size is accurate. Shaun is a strong, well-built 6'2" 235. Equally as important, Shaun is physical and has a high motor. Absolute game-wrecking type of player in the KLAA. Against teams without strong offensive lines, you straight-up don't want to run the ball Shaun's way.

Already with several D1 offers, Shaun is on pace to be a great D1 college football player.

I was able to catch a glimpse of Mohamed at a recent Legacy event.

From what I've seen, Mohamed has a chance to be a game-wrecker this coming season. I also think he has a good chance to earn college offers in the coming months.

At Legacy, Mohamed showed a great getoff, and a decent set of pass rush moves. He had a high % win rate, and looked far more athletic and bendy than what I'm used to with defensive tackles. Plus, he shows on tape that he can play both ways. When going against teams like Belleville and Dearborn every year, you need to be strong up front. Mohamed gives Fordson that needed edge.

A well-utilized Tight End / H-Back with excellent size.

His tape shows a good variety of blocking and receiving highlights. Lining up in line, Jeffrey has several good kickout blocks. He tends to lose balance when blocking, but I still like his ability to lay a good hit and drive.

Receiving, Jeffrey has a few decent routes both lining up in-line and outside. His highlight at 0:50 shows a good contested catch on the crossing route, against a great linebacker as well.

Has the potential to be a game-wrecker next season. With even marginal improvements to speed, route running, and balance, Jeffrey's efficency can skyrocket.

Luke is an excellent outside threat for Livonia Stevenson. I know that Stevenson has a good rushing offense, but Luke was consistently able to take the top off of the defense.

The first minuite of his tape features non-stop deep routes and catches. Luke is able to get that little separation from the DB, just enough for his QB to have a good shot at hitting him downfield. Luke doesn't have a ton of open-field highlights, but the few he does have show decent contact balance and a good ability to keep running north-south. There's also an excellent blocking highlight in there- absolutely want to see more of that in the future.
