With a class of 2027 rankings update due, expect [player_tooltip player_id='1083931' first='Tyshawn' last='Bailey Jr'], who now holds offers from Memphis and Temple, to be a riser in the rankings.

Film shows us that Bailey is primarily utilized as a receiver appears bigger on film than listed. He is comfortable making falling grabs, the ability to high point the ball, and also coming back to the ball, catching it, while working through contact. Also a team player, he is an aggressive blocker along the perimeter. Defensively he is a safety who profile tackles well. He has speed in the alley and good pursuit angles to force bad throws and take away big gains. I consider Bailey a raw prospect with high upside. His athletics and football instincts clearly show on film, but there is always room for improvement - and in Bailey's case refinement in his game. Defensively I hope to see Bailey maintain force leverage in his run fit and a few more clips defending the pass; whereas on offense I hope to see more fine tuning in his route running to create more natural space.

It has been a while since I last checked in on Eastern Regional's [player_tooltip player_id='857276' first='Terry' last='Cook']. When initially ranked, Cook earned the #2 overall ranking in the class of 2027. After a year of physical development, it is time to take a look how is sophomore season went.

Cook ran run in phase fron a skate technique in cover three with ease and has the body control to make a play both the lead and trail positions. I did not notice a matchup he could not run with. Cook uses his body to take on bigger blockers on perimeter toss-type plays, but might lose his force leverage - this will come as time progresses. Appearing more built and physically developed on film, the rising junior typically plays conservatively, opting to play and tip the ball rather than intercept. Perhaps the most telling clip on his tape, Cook bit on a route fake but showcased the speed needed to recover and make a play on the ball for an incompletion. In 2024 he also played some safety and receiver as well. When I take a look at Cook's junior tape, I hope to see him matchup up in press coverage - as I feel he has the speed to run with anyone on the field and asphyxiate matchups all over the field - as well as more instances of his hip mobility and converting picks. Add these elements to Cook's film, and I feel the offers will blow up.

Whereas the aforementioned Cook has already cracked the 2027 rankings, Cranford's [player_tooltip player_id='1301960' first='Gabriel' last='Worrell'] is currently watchlisted and eager to see where he ultimately lands.

On tape we see that Worrell seems to prioritize ball security as he bursts through the line. Worrell appears to see grass and take grass, while running with a forward lean to gain cheap and easy yards. Although I am not ready to call him a power back just yet, he does not go down easily and will require a good, solid form tackle to wrangle him to the ground. Worrell generally run his track, as Cranford has a history of being a very good running team; however, when things are cloudy in front of him he will bounce and is able to make cuts to create on his own when stuck on his side of scrimmage - although I have not seen much of that in the open field. Absent from his film are long, break-away runs that really showcase his speed. I also think Worrell can be a bit more patient at moments, especially when we see him beat pullers/kickout men to the spot.

Closing out is our first defender who I found in my DMs, Shawnee's [player_tooltip player_id='1297800' first='Joey' last='Cleaver']. Cleaver has shown to play off the edge, but is not always sent as a rusher as he covers more time than not. Short passes and play action passes are tough to get by him, as Cleaver does a nice job slipping inside of flat-bound fakers and manages to stay in between them and the quarterback. With urgency, we see Cleaver get to his pass drop, clogging lanes in the process and also taking away the bubble route when he is lined up over a slot receiver. I think Cleaver has some big hit potential to him, as he has shown pop. Additionally, the rising junior has shown to be relatively physical with end men on the line of scrimmage. I think Cleaver has really good potential to be a rare, two-way linebacker at the high school level. He clearly defends the pass well; however, I wish to see more plays of him being more physical, stuffing the run, and more consistent tackling technique before I am, personally, willing to call him that. It is definitely in the cards, however.
