As was mentioned in my most recent article, we at Prep Redzone Iowa have dropped the ball when it comes to player evaluations. It's led to backtracking and adding scouting reports for those student-athletes missed up until now and made for a productive offseason project.

Here's another batch of write-ups for guys who certainly are worthy of the attention:

McClish is a large human who faces limitations when playing hide-and-seek. He's much more than just a big body getting in people's way, however, as we can witness when watching his junior highlight video. McClish is quick off of the snap and moves well. It helps him succeed when he's asked to block in space while pulling. McClish reaches those defenders with bad intentions. His power and physicality overwhelm opponents. McClish is a guard/center prospect that should be very successful at the next level, where he can further develop at the position.

I scouted Roberts in person early last season at Cedar Rapids Prairie and then again during the state semifinals in the UNI-Dome. He played a key role in helping the Rams four-peat. Roberts won a lot of battles at right tackle in 2024, as we can see while watching his junior highlight video. He has a knack for blocking multiple defenders on a given play and doing so with physicality. Roberts sets up well in pass-pro, operating with balance and good hand placement. He could line up on the outside at the next level. His athleticism and agility would play up even more with a move inside.

Kock stands out on his junior highlight video as a prospect getting the job now with high-ceiling potential for the next level. He's a big reason why West Lyon won another state championship with an unblemished record last season. Kock chipped in on defense, producing a couple of tackles for loss and a sack, but his greatest impact occurred on the offensive front. He thrives with physicality and a burst off of the snap. The combination puts defenders on their heels from the jump and most of them never recover. Kock looks fluid getting into his pass-pro stance and does a nice job placing his hands. A tackle at the prep level, Kock looks capable of sliding inside and succeeding if a college staff prefers him there.

Clark came through as a junior for the Hawks, which I was able to see during an in-person scout at Iowa City Liberty last season. The versatile athlete intercepted five passes, two of which he took back to the house. He also piled up 56 tackles in earning first-team all-state honors. Clark's 11th-grade highlight video reveals his big-play ability. Clark looks comfortable lining up against slot receivers. He sticks with wideouts and reacts well to the ball in the air. Clark anticipates what's coming his way, which helps while playing zone. Ankeny will use him for blitzes on passing and running plays. He gets home and is sound tackler.

Headings has been on my radar for a while as I see him relatively frequently being in Iowa City. He's an intriguing athlete with good size and a projectable frame. It feels like his best football is ahead of him. And that's saying something when you see his exploits during his junior highlight video. On an offense with a lot of mouths to feed, Headings caught 10 passes for 176 yards and four touchdowns, numbers you can expect to spike in 2025. Thirty two of his 58.0 tackles were solo. He had 3.0 tackles for loss, an interception and returned kicks. Headings' versatility keeps open the possibility for multiple positions in college. Staffs covet that flexibility.

Miller can get overshadowed by some of the talented underclassmen on the Maroons' O-Line, but he shows throughout his junior highlight video that he's a prospect of note. A versatile offensive lineman that has potential on the inside, holds up well as Dowling's right tackle. He combines size and strength with sound technique and fundamentals. Miller knows how to punch and use his hands. He plays with balance whether setting up in pass pro or plowing ahead for the rush. Miller moves well and is able to reach blocks in space. His frame is such that it can add good mass without the loss of agility.

As was mentioned in my most recent article, we at Prep Redzone Iowa have dropped the ball when it comes to player evaluations. It's led to backtracking and adding scouting reports for those student-athletes missed up until now and made for a productive offseason project.
