Martinez led all freshmen in interceptions last season with an impressive seven picks, making a strong case as one of the top young defenders in 1A. He finished the year with 29 total tackles and added a sack, showcasing his versatility. With quick feet and a sharp ability to read quarterbacks, Martinez consistently found himself in position to make plays on the ball. He's also effective in run support and can make tackles in open space. If he can replicate, or build on his freshman success, expect him to become a big name on the radar.

Wilson is a speedy defensive back who uses his closing burst to quickly eliminate space and make sure tackles. He totaled 31 tackles and recorded a sack, while also snagging two interceptions by effectively reading the quarterback's eyes. His instincts in coverage and ability to attack the ball in the air make him a player to watch. With plans to add size this offseason, Wilson could return as a more physical presence in the secondary, potentially developing into a hard hitting safety who commands attention.

A physical safety with a wide receiver background, Jones brings a well rounded skill set to the secondary. He totaled 54 tackles and picked off two passes last season, consistently demonstrating strong field vision and an aggressive mindset. His ability to break on the ball and step into the box to deliver hits makes him a versatile threat. As he continues to develop, Jones looks like a future leader on defense and a name to watch across the state.

Chavez didn't see much varsity action this past season, but the tools are clearly there. He's shown a willingness to step up in run support and deliver contact, traits that bode well as he transitions to a larger role. He reads the quarterback effectively and has flashed the ability to break on the ball and generate turnovers. With a full offseason ahead, expect Chavez to take strides physically and become a bigger part of his team's defensive plans moving forward.

Despite limited varsity snaps, Lopez made the most of his time on the field by securing three interceptions in just four games. He has natural tracking skills and does a good job reading the receiver's route to break up plays. He added 14 tackles and a tackle for loss, proving he can contribute when called upon. As he earns more reps, Lopez has the potential to become a known name in the 2A ranks and emerge as one of the more dangerous ball hawks that you will need to know.
