We're well into the offseason, and we're keeping things going ahead of spring workouts and summer practices. In a new series that will run concurrently with some of our other cornerstone content, like my community film room series or Matt Morrow's county-by-county Deep Dives, we're looking at what some of our 2028 players (both ranked and unranked) did as freshmen. Earlier this week, I looked at the freshman offensive linemen in the Charlotte area. Here, I've got six other offensive linemen from around the state.

A two-way player, some outlets see Waddell as a future defensive lineman. However, we love his upside at offensive tackle and think he could be a potential nationally-ranked recruit at that position. Waddell is so smooth in the open field as a blocker and can reach to make blocks that most upperclassmen can only dream of making. His footwork is excellent and his quickness make him a candidate for a future college tackle job.

Another future national recruit, Williams has already garnered the attention of some of the nation's elite schools, earning several offers from Big Ten and SEC squads. He plays several positions and his physicality stands out at each of them. If we had to project, we think he's a college left tackle, given his length and footwork, but he has the brute strength to flex inside as well.

Howard is a people-mover at guard, something I love to see from young offensive linemen. He got better in pass protection as the year went on against a quality schedule, but his bread and butter is run blocking. Rolesville's talented backs often ran through gaping holes on the right side of the offensive line as Howard effortlessly displaced defensive tackles. His upside is tremendous.

Biddle is enormous and moves well, something we've seen at past camps. While he has the ability to play inside and outside, he's likely a future right tackle thanks to his excellent length and reach. If he continues to develop, he's certainly a prospect to watch.

If you're undersized, you have to play with good pad level and leverage, something Miller does as well as anyone in the class. He can move people despite not having the developed body of many of the older linemen he's facing. Miller's put on substantial muscle mass in the past year and looks like one of the best center prospects in the class.

Lane got some run at right tackle last year as a freshman, and held his own. He's a strong pass blocker with the ability to stand his ground against talented edge rushers. He's growing as a puller and we're excited to see how he develops.
