Recruiting Report 3/24- Latest Offers and Commitments

As we head further into the offseason, the recruiting world only keeps moving.   Today we are highlighting some of the newest offers and commitments across the state- these prospects are killing it on the recruiting trail right now and won't be stopping anytime soon.   As always, check out their tape below- we have so much talent here in Alabama that you won't want to miss.    [player_tooltip player_id='401112' first='Mike' last='Jones'] has been one of my favorite prospects in our 2026 Rankings since we created them a few years back, he's an explosive RB out of Pike Road who just made a big decision regarding his plans at the next level.   Jones plays with a ton of speed and twitch and is explosive out of the backfield- once he gets the ball quickly reaches his top speed and leaves defenders in the dust. When you pair his speed with his elusiveness and change of direction, he can easily make defenders miss and carve up massive gains on the ground in the open field. It doesn't end there, Jones also makes a lot of contributions in the passing game, consistently being a reliable target for his quarterback, and racking up extra yardage after the catch.   After picking up offers from all over the country, Jones announced yesterday he was committing to Ole Miss!   Even as a Mississippi State fan I don't think there was a better place for Jones to land, he's going to be a huge piece of their rushing attack early on and will be set up for tons of success- just watch.      [player_tooltip player_id='1212638' first='Edrick' last='Williams'] is a really talented DB out of Daphne we watched and wrote about a few weeks back, and since then, things have only gotten better for him in the recruiting world.   Williams is dominant at safety- he flies around the field to provide terrific coverage and run support nearly every play, consistently helping his teammates come up with huge stops. Williams plays with a ton of speed and can easily cover lots of ground- frequently on tape he excels in single high, tracking the ball, and never letting anybody get behind him for explosive plays. I'm just as impressed with Williams's ability to defend the run, he consistently flies downhill to fight off blocks and wraps up the ball carrier for little to no gain.   Last week, Williams went on a visit to South Alabama and left with an offer! It's been really cool watching Williams' name get out there these last few weeks, he's a rising prospect colleges are really starting to notice, and for good reason.   Be sure to check out Williams' tape below, he's a talented DB set for a huge senior season in Daphne's secondary, just watch!      [player_tooltip player_id='1068557' first='Cason' last='Myers'] is a really talented QB out of Pike Road who has continually impressed us each year, he's played incredibly well these last two years and college programs have been taking notice.   Myers is a really impressive passer who can put anywhere on the field- he has some serious arm strength and terrific accuracy/ball placement he uses to lead and hit his WRs in stride perfectly downfield for huge plays. It's even more impressive watching how well Myers maneuvers the pocket, he's great at avoiding pressure and keeping his eyes downfield to keep plays alive. Myers is also mobile and can create plays with his legs if he has to bail out of the packet- he consistently finds ways to keep the ball safe and move the chains every snap, it's really impressive to watch.   Myers just picked up an offer from USF last week, and with his talent, he's definitely going to see more sent his way in the next few months.   Myers is a really talented QB prospect with a big year ahead of him, be sure to watch his tape below and look out for him this fall!      [player_tooltip player_id='1604776' first='Darius' last='Burwell'] is a DB we laid eyes on a few weeks back, and man has he impressed us and programs at the next level these last few months.   Burwell is highly instinctual and constantly puts himself near the ball to rack up stops against the run and pass. In coverage, Burwell can lock up WRs and also has the ball skills to track and pick off/break up passes all around the field. Burwell is just as good at defending the run, he's terrific in pursuit and consistently flies downhill to deliver huge hits to the ball carrier, regardless of where he lined up pre-snap. I think what impressed me most about Burwell was his ability to create turnovers- he came up with a ton of forced fumbles and interceptions last season, consistently finding ways to flip possession and put his offense in great starting field position.   Burwell has had a productive offseason and has made a name for himself in the recruiting world- just this past week South Alabama reached out and sent an offer his way, and with his talent, there's surely more to come.   Keep an eye on Burwell, he has everything you could need in a safety at the next level and has a huge year ahead.      [player_tooltip player_id='1337998' first='Armari' last='Towns'] is a versatile TE/WR out of Hoover who has been dominant for his team's passing attack the last two seasons, and teams at the next level have really been taking notice.   Standing at 6'6 220, Towns physically outmatches every defender that lines across from him, and does a great job utilizing his size to his advantage. Frequently on tape Towns can be seen mossing DBs, and playing through contact really well, requiring multiple defenders to bring him down after the catch. It's also impressive watching how well Towns can move and run routes at his size, he can gain a lot of separation with his quickness and can cause some serious damage after the catch.   Towns has seen his recruitment open up a ton this offseason, and just this past week, he picked up his first SEC offer from Ole Miss!   It'll be exciting and see where Towns ends up, he's a really talented prospect with a bright future ahead this fall and onward- stay tuned!      [player_tooltip player_id='1337985' first='Dylan' last='Purter'] is an extremely talented DB out of Booker T Washington who played terrific last season and has had a big development in his recruitment over this past week.   At 6'2 175 Purter plays with a ton of speed and instincts and locates and flies to the ball nearly every snap. Purter is excellent at recognizing and reacting to plays, he isn't easily baited downfield and has a great understanding of where he needs to be to create the greatest impact. Purter is terrific in coverage, he provides a ton of security over the top of his defense and does a great job tracking and getting his hands on the ball, coming away with some huge INTs/PBUs all over the field. Purter is just as good at making plays in the backfield against the run and pass- he's a reliable blitzer who uses his speed to fly downhill from the secondary and deliver some huge hits to opposing QBs and RBs.    After receiving tons of offers over the last few months, Purter narrowed his decision and committed to LSU last week!   It will be exciting watching Purter play out his final season this fall, and on at the next level- I have a feeling he will be the next great out of DBU.
