<p>The month of February was a MONSTER one on the recruiting trail. Last month, we saw several prospects earn their first offers, others grow their lists, and we had one big time commitment. </p>   <p>Check out all the recruiting news that occurred around the state in February.</p>   <p>Millard South 2026 RB <strong><em>[player_tooltip player_id='402160' first='Nelsyn' last='Wheeler']</em></strong> became the third player in the 2026 class to announce their commitment and second to commit to Northern Illinois. Nelsyn is a RB with legit track speed who rushed for 1,032 and seven touchdowns during his junior season with the Islanders. The rangy safety recorded 54 tackles, a TFL, and three interceptions with 26 receptions for 458 yards and five touchdowns on offense. The Viking's prospect also has offers from Colorado State, Iowa State, New Mexico, Dartmouth, and South Dakota State. Jack emerged as one of the top wideouts in his class with 66 catches for 975 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
