The fun part of being involved with state rankings is that I have the chance to come across prospects that I think are total gems. The best part is that I get to celebrate those prospects, write about them, and – hopefully – deliver some deserving attention their way.

Without further adieu, here are a batch of prospects within the position mentioned in the title that deserve a good look by all.

Hillsborough is no stranger to good, solid, quality, hard-nosed football players that play the game the correct way. Add [player_tooltip player_id='1532312' first='Chiemelie' last='Ozokpor'] to that growing list. As an edge player, we see Ozokpor accelerate and dip his should to get around his matchup and into the backfield. Conversely, he has shown that he can be really - and I mean really - physical at times with the opponent, blowing up and destroying anything and anyone in his path. This attitude translates to his tackling, where we see Ozokpor keep his feet and finish his tackles. At other times, Ozokpor was asked to play the mike linebacker. As an offense weapon Ozokpor possesses above-average vision with the ball in his hands and uses said hands to receive the ball. He is also a hard runner with the ball in his hands. Ozokpor is a prospect that I just cannot exactly tab where he will play, positionally, at the next level.

In terms of playing safety, you ideally want one who can cover a lot of ground. [player_tooltip player_id='1543946' first='Taj' last='Horton'] can do just that. For as much ground he can cover and as well as he moves, Horton is especially good with the ball in his hands. This might be partly due to his balance as an athlete in general. Horton has some latent twitch to him, too. At times he will walk down in cover two, press, and still be athletic enough to deflect passes in the quick game. I would say that Horton is probably a bit more instinctual than anything at this point in his career as Oakcrest looks like they liked to play him down on near the line of scrimmage. Horton is, for certain, a college prospect, I am just unsure at what position.

RJ Wiess looks really good on film. There is not a ball thrown in any direction that he can haul in from any physical posturing. Wiess has shown to make acrobatic plays when he makes turns in his routes. His route running is a bit unconventional; however, he manages to find ways to spin defenders in the wrong way. Wiess apparently has a wrestling background, which manifests itself when he is run blocking and on defense. Defensively, Wiess shined as a safety. He does a great job of squaring ball carriers up in the alley and wants to bring physicality to the fight. He also hustles his tail off. On one clip, Wiess was the far cover 2 safety and made the tackle on the far numbers.

[player_tooltip player_id='1467524' first='TJ' last='Munn'] was Mr. Everything for New Providence this last year. More times than not I would imagine Munn was the largest athlete on the field at any given time. As a result, New Providence's offense ran through him at quarterback. With some wiggle and moves to him, Munn finds a way to rip of big gainers, smartly switching the ball to his outside arm and pinning it to his chest in the process. Munn was also a cornerback who showed really quick feet when in his backpedal. Further, his turn was very sharp and he prioritizes disallowing anyone to get behind him. Lastly, Munn shows that he high points the ball very effectively and fights hard for the perimeter.

Class of 2025 Final Rankings Coverage

Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part I
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part II
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part III
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part IV
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part V
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VI
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VII
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VIII
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part IX
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part X
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part XI
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part XII
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part XIII
Ranking Risers, Part I
Ranking Risers, Part II
Watchlist Risers, Part 1
Must-See Film: Athletes, Part I
Must-See Film: Athletes, Part II
Must-See Film: Defensive Backs, Part I
Must-See Film: Defensive Linemen, Part I
Must-See Film: Linebackers, Part I
Must-See Film: Offensive Linemen, Part I
Must-See Film: Quarterbacks, Part I
Must-See Film: Running Backs, Part I
Must-See Film: Tight Ends
Must-See Film: Wide Receivers, Part I

The fun part of being involved with state rankings is that I have the chance to come across prospects that I think are total gems. The best part is that I get to celebrate those prospects, write about them, and – hopefully – deliver some deserving attention their way.
