One prospect that jumped was [player_tooltip player_id='1543893' first='Aaron' last='Viray']. Viray tracks the deep ball thrown ahead of him very well and has a second speed that he achieves by his 5th step of his route. Viray will use this to lull defenders to sleep before burning past them He does have a bigger body, which makes him more difficult for defensive backs to bring him down. Not lost upon him is that he has enough shiftiness in his route running to make defenders take the bait just a bit. For someone of his stature, Viray sure does a nice job of snapping his hips at the stem of his route in order to create separation to make plays. Additionally, we see him perform stalk blocking well, often working to get his matchup to the ground. Should he really be 6'2" with this blocking effort, Viray ought to make a very good college tight end.

One of the first receivers I watched during this update was [player_tooltip player_id='1543894' first='Andres' last='Perez'], who left a really good impression on me. Sneaky good, Perez has the requisite balance to break, spin, and stay upright from arm tackles. The more I watched of him, the more I realized that he has some wheels on him too. With the ball in his hands, Perez weaves in-and-out of danger effectively. Perez's skillset is highly versatile, allowing him to also line up as a split back in the backfield - accenting his mismatch-ability against linebackers. In terms of his routes, Perez runs them precisely in terms of both depth and path - which he does not get put off of either. Lastly, as he approaches danger we see Perez pin the ball to secure it.

Jackson Memorial can do more than run the rock with [player_tooltip player_id='212391' first='Jonah' last='Glenn']. Graduating receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1530238' first='Eric' last='Zebrowski'] was enough shake and bake to make defenders readjust their angle to the ball carrier - ultimately to only fail the footrace. Zebrowski is very good with the ball in his hands and creative when making people miss. This is due to his ability to make several sudden, short cuts. Furthermore, he has shown the speed to outrun split safeties up the middle at times. While his body puts in that work, his hands exclusively are used to make catches.

Depending on what source you rely on, [player_tooltip player_id='1525016' first='Jackson' last='Morrice'] either holds New Jersey's single-season and career yardage record, or is short by the skin of his teeth after an epic senior campaign. When we look at his film, we find that Morrice accrues a lot of extra yardage by against a tacker's leverage - spinning off of high and low tackles alike. This ability is augmented by the burst of speed he possesses when he sees either a seam or hole in the defense. Additionally, the graduating senior runs with forward lean, something that astute running backs tend to do. Morrice sells his route fakes hard, sometimes hard enough to the point that defenders fall over themselves. In addition to route fakes, Morrice creates separation from defenders by sinking his hips when he breaks the stem of his route exceptionally well. A savvy player, we see him also settle in zones' soft spots for a moment, only to explode and exploit poor scramble drill teams.

Class of 2025 Final Rankings Coverage

Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part I
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part II
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part III
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part IV
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part V
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VI
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VII
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part VIII
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part IX
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part X
Film Evaluation Ranking Notes, Part XI
Ranking Risers, Part I
Watchlist Risers, Part 1
Must-See Film: Athletes, Part I
Must-See Film: Defensive Backs, Part I
Must-See Film: Defensive Linemen, Part I
Must-See Film: Linebackers, Part I
Must-See Film: Offensive Linemen, Part I
Must-See Film: Quarterbacks, Part I
Must-See Film: Running Backs, Part I
Must-See Film: Tight Ends
Must-See Film: Wide Receivers, Part I

The fun part of being involved with state rankings is that I have the chance to come across prospects that I think are total gems. The best part is that I get to celebrate those prospects, write about them, and – hopefully – deliver some deserving attention their way.
