Before I settle in to catch some of the NCAA Tournament, like the rest of America, I decided to look into some linebackers in the Kansas Class of 2026.

Here are five from Northeast Kansas to keep tabs on.

[player_tooltip player_id='1274111' first='Ben' last='Trier'], LB, 6'3”, 215, Seaman

The Seman prospect is athletic and will continue to improve with increased off-the-field work. He finished with 29 tackles in a limited varsity role last fall. He has quality speed and knows how to wrap up ball carriers. Trier is ranked No. 298 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1394777' first='Tucker' last='Hutchinson'], LB, 5'7”, 15, Basehor-Linwood

The Bobcats are a solid program that continues to win games and produce college talent. As a junior, he recorded 71 tackles, two TFLs, 1.5 quarterback sacks, and one interception. Hutchinson is ranked No. 349 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.

[player_tooltip player_id='1474404' first='Julion' last='Daniels'], LB, 6'1”, 225, Santa Fe Trail

Santa Fe Trail's Daniels is a versatile football player. He can play multiple positions, including linebacker, defensive end, quarterback, and running back. He has an impressive combination of size and speed, solid instincts on the field, and is underrated and underrecruited. He is ranked No. 358 in the Kanas Class of 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466508' first='Osiris' last='Unruh'], LB, 6'0”, 240, Jefferson West

The Jefferson West linebacker collected 80 tackles for the Tigers during his junior season. He recorded 13 TFLs and two quarterback sacks. He is tough and fills the gap quickly. Unruh is ranked No. 419 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He also wrestles.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598867' first='Liam' last='Marler'], LB, 5'7”, 165, Ottawa

Marler is a fast-flow linebacker with nice lateral movement. He has powerful legs and brings the wood when he hits ball carriers. He is ranked No. 455 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas.
