He has a strong arm and a great feel for throwing the ball. His mechanics and footwork are excellent. Herrick plays at Pittsburgh Central Catholic, and he should be able to step up and get a chance to start in the next few years. His ability to make plays as both a runner and a passer is excellent. As a runner, he is a physical runner who is hard to bring down. He also shows good speed as he can run past defenders. This is impressive as he was only a freshman this past season. Then, as a passer, he shows a strong arm but needs to get better with his accuracy. With more time put into fine-tuning, his delivery the skies the limit for him. Then, as a thrower of the football, he shows a strong arm and good accuracy. His footwork needs work, but he has the talent to improve in that area. He has a good arm and shows good accuracy when he throws the ball. Smith is also a good athlete that moves well in and outside the pocket.
