A breakout player as a junior, Caldwell earned All Catholic, All WNY & All State honors with his sound technique, fast get off and his ruthless aggression in the trenches. Caldwell has great size and is versatile enough to play anywhere on the D-Line.

Hoose made All State as a sophomore while at Southwestern but in his junior year, he transferred to St. Francis where the competition increased and so did his game. Most high school DL, play OL on offense but Tavio double times as a RB and it shows through with his quick feet and excellent closing speed.

I covered a couple of Iroquois games in 2024 and while their passing attack got most of the news, what caught my attention was Donohue. Richard never left the field. He was a factor in all three aspects of the game as a RB, DE and special teamer. Then when injuries hit the Redhawks OL, he moved to Left Guard and played extremely well. This is a player whose name needs to be out there and college scouts should watch in 2025.

After missing the 2023 campaign, Koch came back with a vengeance in his junior season making the All WNY team as an OL but his future probably lies on the defensive side of the ball. He has excellent body control and attacks with a high motor. He finished the season with 44 tackles and 6 sacks.

Rising the Ranks

[player_tooltip player_id='1344712' first='Kurt' last='Stevens'] is a two year varsity starter that has been under the radar but he is a stud lineman that will have doors opening for him his senior season to make some noise.

Pioneer is always a Class B powerhouse and with several seniors graduating, DE [player_tooltip player_id='1743076' first='Takota' last='Smith'] (66 tackles and 7 sacks as a junior) will be looking to take lead in the locker room.

[player_tooltip player_id='1345120' first='Jamiere' last='Hemphill'] is a two way stud from McKinley. He did an excellent job of anchoring the Macks dominant rushing attack and he was a huge run stuffer with a fast get off from his DT position.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275964' first='Brody' last='Kaufman'] from Clarence and [player_tooltip player_id='1720878' first='Brayden' last='Klinger'] from Lancaster are two pure D-Linemen that I am expecting big things from as seniors. The bother have big frames with long wingspans and can shed blocks as good as anyone.

Players to Watch in 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1345118' first='Amos' last='Lutete'] from Bennett is a name that is new to me but he is a two-way lineman that has a significant amount of varsity experience heading into his senior year.

West Seneca West is loaded with young talent and DT [player_tooltip player_id='806889' first='Patrick' last='Allen'] will be a player the Warhawks will look to next season. He has a big frame and a high motor.

[player_tooltip player_id='1743080' first='Frankie' last='Stephens'] out of Medina is a tremendous LT/DT that plays with a great deal of physicality.
