When we take a close look at the 2026 class in Georgia, there are some very special talents on both ends of the football. Today, I am going to take a look at the defensive side of the ball and zero in on some of the dominant forces in the 2026 class in the great Peach State. There are a lot to choose from and here we will grab a few to speak on.

In less than just three seasons, [player_tooltip player_id='212311' first='Tyler' last='Atkinson'] has almost 500 tackles and 30 sacks. He's a tackling machine, a pass rushing the passer magician off the edge and he is extremely versitile by being able to play on the inside or outside at the linebacker position. Atkinson's career so far speaks for it's own but he's got an entire year ahead of him left in the high school ranks. We all know the tremendous player and athlete he is but let's spotlight also what will make him a star at the next level aside from his ability. Atkinson holds a high standard of leadership and character along with him. The way he leads and treats his teammates and coaches are a huge asset that stands out and initially is what makes him even more special. A massive year is set ahead for the #1 LB and every program in the Country will be keeping close tabs on Atkinson.

I have covered [player_tooltip player_id='681180' first='Xavier' last='Griffin'] a good amount for about two to three years now and obviously Griffin is a Statewide and Nationwide known player now being currently committed to University OF Southern California and having every big time program in the Country on his tracks wanting to get him to their programs. Rightfully so, right? I mean, Griffin is one of the best players in the class of 2026 not just in Georgia but the entire Nation. Griffin has the frame, length and overall size to be a dominant force at the college level just as he is now at the high school level.

[player_tooltip player_id='212297' first='Deuce' last='Geralds II'] is a complete force on the defensive line for Collins Hill. I have covered him a couple of years now and he is a dude on the gridiron possessing power, quickness and pure force coming off the edge at 6'2 240 lbs. He's going to have a massive season in the 2026 class and he's a guy who will make a program better at the next level.

I have watched Brooks up close two straight seasons in the playoffs and one thing that stands out about Brooks is his pure dominance and size. At 6'4, Brooks is able to use his length and reach the backfield in a hurry with that big first step. His ability to fight off tackles is one of the best I have seen in a while. The ability to get in the backfield with ease and stop the run or pressure the quarterback is a big asset for Brooks and in comparison in that sense, it reminds me of former Rome and Georgia Bulldog Adam Anderson with the ease of getting into the backfield. Brooks and Anderson are moreso different types of ends with Adam standing at a 6'6 range but the mastering of getting in the backfield at will is very similar. Brooks is a force and will be a great player at the next level. This season I expect him to have his best season yet.

[player_tooltip player_id='682972' first='Jordan' last='Carter'] has been a complete beast for the Douglas County squad and is one of the more exceptional forces in the state on the defensive line. He is a disrupter and a guy who you can count on to make a big play or a big time stop. Carter is going to have a great year this season coming up and I believe it'll be his best one yet.
