<p>When the Iowa Avalanche 18U squad kicks off this 7-on-7 season, it will have a distinct Iowa City Regina feel to it. eleven of the 15 student-athletes on the roster are Regals. </p>

<p>It makes sense. Regina traditionally fields one of the state's top small-school teams. It's safe to say the Regals will be formidable once again this Fall. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='466364' first='Tate' last='Wallace'] headlines this Avalanche outfit. He picked up a Miami (OH) scholarship offer in October, during a 2024 season that saw him catch 51 passes for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense, he also had 27.5 tackles (4.0 TFL) and a sack. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1657101' first='Kyle' last='Tracy'] ranked as one of the state's better dual-threat quarterbacks last season. The junior completed 61.5 percent of his throws for 1,901 yards and 19 touchdowns against eight interceptions. He added 751 yards (4.8 YPC) and a team-best nine scores on the ground. </p>

<p>Like Wallace, [player_tooltip player_id='1657093' first='Drew' last='Greve'] was one of Tracy's top targets. He hauled in 23 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns. He piled up 20 solo tackles and four interceptions on defense. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1370666' first='Aaron' last='Honore'] contributed 27 solo stops and picked off three balls in '24. Eddie Gangba recorded 33 solo tackles and, like Honore, chipped in on offense. </p>

<p>Roan Eckhoff posted 42.5 tackles (26 solo, 6.5 TFL) and 1.5 sacks. James Whisler registered 31 solo tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss. </p>

<p>Luke Hamilton, Zach Poe, Kaleb Moeller and [player_tooltip player_id='1247897' first='Trey' last='Streb'] all chipped in as Regal underclassmen last season. [player_tooltip player_id='1657050' first='Bradyn' last='Starbuck'] played as a sophomore at Clear Creek Amana. </p>

<p>Iowa City West has three players on the Avalanche squad. Adrian DeWaard is coming off a season that saw him deliver 33.5 tackles and a Pick-6. [player_tooltip player_id='1692024' first='Henry' last='Elser'] stood out in all three phases for the Trojans. Ryan Tracy was developing on the West freshman team. </p>
