Impact 2027s With Huge Seasons Ahead This Fall

We have some extremely talented 2027 prospects all across the state- I've been seriously impressed this whole offseason with how well-rounded this class is.   Today we are watching some prospects I believe are set for massive seasons this fall- these guys played really well throughout their sophomore year and have only been getting better throughout this offseason.   As always, check out their tape below! There is too much talent to pass up on here in Alabama.    [player_tooltip player_id='1631151' first='Courtney' last='Acoff'] is a dominant DT out of Bessemer City who put together an extremely impressive sophomore season last fall, coming up with tons of huge stops against the run and pass all year long. Acoff is a dominant force on the interior- he explodes off the line, is incredibly powerful, and gets great penetration every snap- causing tons of problems for offensive lines. Acoff is terrific against the run- he fights off blockers really well and uses his size to clog up rushing lanes and to reach and make huge tackles for loss in the backfield. Acoff is just as productive against the pass- he opens up opportunities for his teammates with how much attention he demands on the interior and can consistently collapse the pocket and come up with big plays on QBs. Acoff was a force to be reckoned with last fall, ending his sophomore season with 63 total tackles (9 for loss), 3 sacks, and one fumble recovery. Teams at the next level are starting to take notice of Acoff's dominant season, he's picked up offers from Troy, Toledo, and Memphis over the past few weeks, with surely more on the way soon!      [player_tooltip player_id='366554' first='Darius' last='Whitlow'] is a dominant RG out of Opelika who had a huge season up front for their offensive line last fall, providing great pass protection and some huge blocks in the run game all year long. It's seriously impressive watching how well Whitlow moves at his size- he's super mobile and can make a ton of huge blocks in the run game, consistently pulling across the line of scrimmage and working from level to level to open up massive rushing lanes for his RB. On top of that, he's dominant in pass protection- he does a great job setting his feet and using his size, leverage, and strength to completely dominate the line of scrimmage. Frequently on tape, he pancaked pass rushers, giving his QB plenty of time to decide what to do with the ball. I'm incredibly impressed with Whitlow and his playstyle- he plays with a ton of toughness and effort and finishes blocks until the whistle every snap, making him an incredibly valuable piece of Opelika's offense. With how he played last fall, Whitlow has been making a name for himself this offseason, picking up offers from Tulane and ECU, with plenty more on the way soon. Be sure to watch his tape below and this fall, he's one of our top OL in the state and is set for a big junior year!      [player_tooltip player_id='1631178' first='Jay' last='Ragland'] is a dominant LB/EDGE prospect out of Ashford who is coming off a huge sophomore year where he made tons of plays both on and off ball- as well as on offense as an RB. Ragland is highly athletic and plays with a ton of speed and pursuit- he's a terrific run defender who can track and hunt down the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage and in the open field, never allowing for any big gains. On top of that, he's an explosive pass rusher off the edge that flies by OTs to generate pressure and place big hits on the quarterback. I was incredibly impressed with how easily Ragland sheds off blocks, he has a wide variety of moves combined with his speed, quickness, and strength that completely overwhelms offensive linemen. It doesn't end there, Ragland also made some impact plays on offense as well, carving up defenses for good gains and scoring plays on the ground. Ragland had an incredibly productive sophomore season- ending the year with 42 carries for 298 yards and 3 TDs on offense, with 46 total tackles (28 solo, 16 for loss), 4 sacks, and one fumble recovery. Ragland has picked up a lot of attention from the next level recently, picking up offers from UAB and Georgia Southern, with plenty more on the way. I was super impressed with Ragland's film and think he has the potential to end up as one of the top LBs in his class. Be sure to check out his film below, he's going to blow up soon.      [player_tooltip player_id='1631191' first='Will' last='Abrams'] is an incredibly dominant LB out of St. Paul's Episcopal who made some extremely impressive plays last season and is set to dominate his junior year this fall. Abrams is incredibly athletic and can make sideline-to-sideline plays against the run and pass with ease- he plays with unreal pursuit and flies to the ball every snap, coming up with huge stops all over the field regardless of where he lines up pre-snap. It's incredibly impressive watching Abrams defend the run- he slips by blockers to fill in lanes and attack the ball carrier, consistently coming up with tackles for loss or little to no gain. Abrams is also super reliable in coverage- he can cover a lot of space with how quick he is and is not a guy you want to throw at, he consistently delivers hard hits to pass catchers and uses his hands to break up and intercept passes. I was super impressed with Abrams' tape- he's an every-down playmaker at LB with tons of talent heading into a huge junior season. Abrams has had a huge offseason in the recruiting world, picking up offers from Georgia Tech, Arkansas State, Liberty, and more. I was super impressed with Abrams' tape- he flies around the field and is a threat to offense every down- be sure to watch out for him this fall, he's set up for a huge year.      [player_tooltip player_id='1631233' first='DJ' last='Waluyn'] is an up-and-coming DB out of Hoover who had a huge sophomore season last fall and was dominant at You Are Athlete last Saturday- I really am excited to see what he does this fall, he has a ton of potential out in their secondary. Waluyn is a talented safety who provides terrific coverage over the top and flies downfield to defend the run. Waluyn is quick, plays with a ton of speed and instincts, and can make some huge plays on the ball- he's terrific at tracking and getting his hands on the football, frequently leading to pass breakups and interceptions. Waluyn is just as good at defending the run- he is excellent in pursuit, consistently tracking and bringing down the ball carrier in the open field and down by the line of scrimmage. Waluyn flew around the field and made tons of plays last season, ending his sophomore year with 47 total tackles, 2 INTs, and 2 PBUs. Waluyn picked up an offer from UT Martin a few weeks back, and will surely have more on the way soon- he's a talented player set up for a huge season this fall.
