Being a part of our rankings team, I have the opportunity to see all sorts of film. A guilty pleasure of mine in that process is that I get to highlight prospects with film that I absolutely enjoyed watching. In this piece, I do exactly that.

It goes without saying that the classes top-rated quarterback has some pretty good film. Aside from looking the part at 6'2" 185lbs, [player_tooltip player_id='1597917' first='Bryce' last='Longo'] is a lefty that throws a ball with confidence and finality. His quick release minimizes the reaction time of defensive backs as he drops dimes up to 50 vertical yards downfield. Part of his confidence and finality come from his, apparent, strong understanding of his read progression. Longo might have been the beneficiary of some good quarterback training when he was young, as we can see his weight transfer and his firm base when he throws the ball. Additionally, he puts touch on the ball. Once he claims a varsity job we will have a better understanding as to just exactly his upside, but it looks like it is high. Once area I wish he showed on film was his ability to move around in the pocket when under pressure.

There might not have been a single freshman in the state that played at as high a level or contributed as much to varsity as Delbarton's [player_tooltip player_id='1597921' first='Chaz' last='Cusimano']. The young safety/nickel corner was credited with 37 tackles and 4 picks this last year. What makes Cusimano a tough defender to beat is how well he runs in his backpedal. This allows him to get sufficient break, but it is his tendency to drive through the receiver's body that has allowed him to break up passes - often fighting over their back. Like any great two-way safety, we see Cusimano fly up in the ally in the run to either force a cutback or make the play himself. A basketball background might be in his history too, as we see the the 2028 graduate play the tip drill and come up with deflections. I saw more than a few instances on film of Cusimano opening up his hips. He apparently watches film, as we see him avoid getting picked on rub routes. Lastly, he is a full-speed ahead type of player who does wait for his teammates to make plays and is a real good wrapper when tackling. I do, however, wish to see him cover and run deep - something absent on film.

Keeping with the trend of freshman who got major varsity burn, go from Morristown to Camden - home of [player_tooltip player_id='965096' first='Daniel' last='Williams']. As Williams looks to plant his flag as a 4-year starter at the school, we see that he skip pulls well, effectively logging the end-man when needed. Something not shown on the film of many lineman, we see at such a young age Williams picks up late blitzers very well, effectively helping his adjacent lineman with his body while keeping his eyes toward his gap responsibility. Williams keeps his matchup at bay by punching and recoiling his arms most of the time. He also as strength. We see the 2028 graduate toss people at moments. Although he does get a very good amount of movement downfield on double teams, I want to see him follow the play a bit more. What if a ball pops loose or something? Additionally, he should continue to work foot drills so he can continue to be light on his feet.
