<p class="text-gray-700">Starting this list off is Pagosa Springs' dual position stud at RB/LB. Leading all 2A in rushing. Lucero measures in at 5'8 pounds, he accounted for 215 carries for 1862 yards and 21 touchdowns. He had 12 receptions for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the defensive side, he had 73 total tackles (58 solo, 15 assisted) 5 TFL, 3 Sacks, 1 INT, 1 FR. Lucero has good athletic ability due to his very good acceleration, speed, good change of direction and balance. He has good vision at the LOS allowing him to choose the correct gap. Lucero hits the holes with tenacity and fire. Uses his good change of direction to make defenders miss. Good juke move and spin move. Lucero will use his home run speed to blaze past the 2nd and 3rd levels of defense. He's tough to take down as well. I'm excited to see how Lucero builds off his fantastic junior season.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Dunning led all 2A quarterbacks in passing yards and touchdowns. The 6'4 160-pound sophomore went 185/300 for 2595 yards, 61.7% completion rate, 31 TDs, 11 INT. Dunning is a pocket passer who uses his good mental processing to go through his reads. If the man isn't open, he won't force it, throwing it out of bounds. He has good arm strength. Dunning makes all the throws you need. Good short accuracy, very good medium, and a good deep ball. He has a quick release allowing him to fit the ball in tight pockets. His ball placement skills stand out to me too. He'll put the ball right in front of his WR, allowing them to catch it in stride. Dunning is only a sophomore, allowing him more time to blossom into a top Colorado QB.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">This list wouldn't be complete without the leader in touchdowns. Wheat measures in at 5'9 170-pounds and is like a bowling ball. Accounting for 143 carries, 1603 yards and 23 touchdowns on the ground. He had 7 receptions for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also got some action as a free safety, with 19 total tackles (6 solo, 13 assisted), 2 INT, and 1 FR. Wheat has very good athletic ability due to very good acceleration, speed, change of direction, and balance. He is the whole package at running back. He also does damage in the passing game. Being a reliable target for his QB in distress. He has very good vision, choosing the correct gap and thrashing the defense. He's a mixture of physical and speed. Wheat puts his shoulder down to run through defenders. Wheat uses his home run speed to run past both levels of the defense. He drives his powerful legs forward for extra yardage. Wheat is a fantastic back, and I'm curious to see where he lands.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Buxton is #1 in receiving yardage and touchdowns for the 2A receivers. The 5'10 170-pound WR/CB had 68 receptions for 1060 yards and 14 touchdowns. As a DB, he had 42 total tackles (28 solo, 14 assisted), 4 INT, 4 PD, 1 FR, 2 FF. Another dual position stud, Buxton has very good athletic ability due to his very good speed, acceleration, good change of direction and jumping. Buxton has a good release against both off coverage and press jam. Uses very quick feet to gain the upper hand on the DB. Good separation quickness due to his athletic ability and mental processing. Will find the soft spot in the zone and exploit it. Very good catching. He uses his suction hands and lengthy arms to pluck the ball out of the air. Buxton is also good after the catch. He uses his speed and shiftiness to break defenders' ankles, and isn't afraid to lower his shoulder to truck through them. Even though signing day has passed, Buxton is a beast and deserves to be on this list.</p>

<!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} -->
<p class="text-gray-700">Michaelis was 2nd in receiving yardage this past season. The 5'10 150-pound senior had 38 receptions for 777 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a DB, he had 45 total tackles (16 solo, 29 assisted) 1 TFL, 1 INT, 4 PD, 1 FF, and 1 FR. Michaelis has very good athletic ability due to very good jumping, speed, good acceleration, and change of direction. He has a good release at the line of scrimmage, excelling in both off and press jam. Gains separation very quickly due to his crisp route running and mental processing. He'll find an open void and exploit it. During the scramble drill, he'll come back to his QB for the easy completion. Good ball tracking skill and good catching. Plucks the ball out of the air, and uses his good jumping to come down with the contested catch. After the catch, he uses dynamic cuts and long strides making defenders miss. Home run speed to get into the endzone. Great season by the senior.</p>
