Michaelis was 2nd in receiving yardage this past season. The 5’10 150-pound senior had 38 receptions for 777 yards and 9 touchdowns. As a DB, he had 45 total tackles (16 solo, 29 assisted) 1 TFL, 1 INT, 4 PD, 1 FF, and 1 FR. Michaelis has very good athletic ability due to very good jumping, speed, good acceleration, and change of direction. He has a good release at the line of scrimmage, excelling in both off and press jam. Gains separation very quickly due to his crisp route running and mental processing. He’ll find an open void and exploit it. During the scramble drill, he’ll come back to his QB for the easy completion. Good ball tracking skill and good catching. Plucks the ball out of the air, and uses his good jumping to come down with the contested catch. After the catch, he uses dynamic cuts and long strides making defenders miss. Home run speed to get into the endzone. Great season by the senior.
