2027 Watchlist To Ranked: Offense

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">In-depth evaluations of the 2027 offensive prospects that moved up from the PRZ watchlist to the rankings in the recent update.</h2>    Scott possesses good positional flexibility and a D1 frame at 6'4” 220 lbs. Can be a three down TE that can line up attached to the LOS, at the H back, or in the slot but could also potentially transition to DE. Carries a good blend of receiving and blocking ability. Flashes good body control and coordination as a pass catcher to not only attack the middle of the field but also push vertically. Physical and aggressive at the POA to play with an edge and bring strong contact at the POA. Powerful in the lower half to create knockback and finish opponents to the ground after initial contact. Great blocker in space that can adjust his angle and break down to engage. Shows some straight line speed after the catch and is a tough tackle once he gets downhill. Sneaky prospect that could pop at any time. Comes in ranked 29th overall and the #3 TE.      Solid offensive line prospect that projects as an OG but also saw time at OT for Brophy as a sophomore. Powerful frame at 6'3” 255 lbs. carrying the natural strength in his hands and lower body to create a push on initial contact. He's balanced at the POA playing with leverage and leg drive to accelerate through contact. A plus athlete that can bend and move his feet to get to the spot or mirror defender's lateral movement in pass protection to stay in front. Well coached and highly technical with his footwork and hand placement to sustain his block and be efficient with his movement. Shows good awareness to identify and adjust to the front with the ability to execute different types of blocks depending on the play and his assignment. Jumps from the watchlist to #31 overall and the third ranked OL prospect in the updated PRZ 2028 state rankings.      Barkus had a breakout sophomore season leading the 2028 class in rushing with 1,171 yards and nine touchdowns on 193 carries. He's a powerful downhill runner with a strong compact frame at 5'9” 200 lbs. Great ability to run through defenders and shed arm tackles while maintaining forward momentum to gain yards after contact and consistently move the pile. Flashes great balance as a ball carrier both at the POA and when making his cuts. He's quick in the short area to make lateral cuts around defenders and does a good job locating/attacking the cut back lane. Accelerates through the LOS and punishes defenders filling the lane by lowering the shoulder and driving through contact. A lot to like about his running and playing style that will land him on recruiting boards as the cycle progresses. Ranked the #3 RB and #32 overall in the 2028 state rankings.      Jenkins is a dynamic athlete with a combination of strength and speed as a ball carrier. 5'10” 180 lbs. he's got great twitch to make explosive cuts and shake defenders both in tight spaces and the open field. Gets to top speed quickly with plus short range burst and then has a well sustained second gear to breakaway once he finds a crease. Forces missed tackles by running through contact with good pad level, leverage, and speed. Possesses natural ball carrier instincts, vision, and spatial awareness to know where defenders are and locate an open running lane. Like his ability to pick up tough yardage between the tackles or turn the corner to outside with speed. Finished his sophomore season with over 900 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns. Ranked the #4 RB and #35 overall in the updated PRZ 2028 state rankings.      Excellent physical traits and skillset that combines his size, ball skills, and leaping ability. At 6'4” 180 lbs. he's got great length to compete for the ball at the high point and uses his body well to box out defenders at the catch point creating positional leverage. Ideal jump ball and redzone threat that can go over the top of DB's and win contested plays in traffic. Possesses a large catch radius that extends outside his framework and is confident attacking the ball with his hands. Makes plays after the catch with his straight line speed and strength through contact. Transferred to Pinnacle after an impressive sophomore season going for 37 receptions, 629 yards, and seven touchdowns highlighted by a seven reception 157 yards with three touchdown performance against Cactus. Great tools to build on as he develops. Ranked inside the top 50 overall and top 10 at WR for the 2027 class.      High caliber athlete with tons of upside and potential. Plays fast and demonstrates speed in all areas of his game. Accelerates hard out of his stance to have a strong drive phase to apply early pressure and break DB's cushion. Long speed allows him to be an explosive vertical threat can run by deep coverage with ease. Good lateral agility in the short area to create separation with quick change of direction. Shows he can drop his hip level at the top of his route to be a sudden route runner and then come out of his breaks with speed. Tracks and adjusts well to ball flight with the hand eye coordination to make difficult receptions against coverage and to the boundary. Strong stalk blocker on the outside that can sustain with effort throughout the play. Picked up his initial offer from Miami in January and is expected to keep rising up the state rankings as the cycle progresses.
