Scott is a pure football player that made plays on both sides of the ball in the 21-13 win over Perry. On offense, he took 3 receptions for 35 yards and 2 touchdowns. On defense, he added 4 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. The 6’4” 220 lb. TE/DE holds four D1 offers from Utah, San Diego State, UNLV, and New Mexico.

At 6’4” 225 lbs., Scott brings an ideal frame and the kind of athleticism that allows him to impact the game on both sides of the ball. He’s a versatile athlete with the size and strength to play in-line as a true TE, but also fluid and explosive enough to flex out wide or line up on defense. His combination of length, coordination, and movement skills makes him a mismatch in the passing game and a physical presence in the run game. He’s got plus ball skills with the ability to play the ball in tight spaces and away from his body. Uses his body to create positional leverage and shield defenders from the ball at the catch point. Physically dominant in the run game, he’s able to latch on to sustain and drive his feet/hips through contact to create movement. Recruitment kicked off in the spring with offers from Utah, New Mexico, and San Diego State then recently added UNLV.

Scott impressed me with his ability to catch every 50/50 ball during the one-on-one period with his strong hands and physicality. He ran good routes and was able to create separation at the top of the route.

Used as both a wideout and a traditional tight end, Talan brings dangerous speed on the outside while still leveraging his size for mismatch potential in the middle. He can run the full route tree, boasts a huge catch radius, and has shown he can be physical when blocking. Although he doesn’t always stay fully engaged at the second level, Talan’s reach and power still let him open up running lanes. His concentration on tough catches is impressive, and he’s got the athleticism to continue turning heads. Keep a close eye on this guy — he’s primed to do big things in 2025.

Scott possesses good positional flexibility and a D1 frame at 6’4” 220 lbs. Can be a three down TE that can line up attached to the LOS, at the H back, or in the slot but could also potentially transition to DE. Carries a good blend of receiving and blocking ability. Flashes good body control and coordination as a pass catcher to not only attack the middle of the field but also push vertically. Physical and aggressive at the POA to play with an edge and bring strong contact at the POA. Powerful in the lower half to create knockback and finish opponents to the ground after initial contact. Great blocker in space that can adjust his angle and break down to engage. Shows some straight line speed after the catch and is a tough tackle once he gets downhill. Sneaky prospect that could pop at any time. Comes in ranked 29^th overall and the #3 TE.
