Crisp mechanics, film to back up what is witnessed at camp, I'm surprised a local D3 hasn't pulled the trigger on [player_tooltip player_id='1231457' first='Tyler' last='Knutson'] yet. Recruiting the QB position can be cut-throat and unfair. This being said, Knutson has come to two consecutive camps that I've been a part of within a years time, earning Top Performer honors each time. Size that stands out in a crowd. Throws a ball that flies out of his hand in a hurry. Pays a good deal of attention to detail from coaches. Always willing to be first in line, a camp example-setter. Carries himself like a senior, is coachable. Arguably the most accurate and on-time passer at this event, this while throwing to names he doesn't have chemistry with. New tape, the Cornell offer, and his MVP performance at this event are going to have him skyrocket up our lists. Love Grant's mechanical makeup. Cradles the football just below the collarbone. Elbows pointed to the turf. Holds the ball close to his chest, did a good job keeping his front shoulder closed for as long as he could. Follows through, puts the sword in the sheath. Had an extensive look at his footwork. We didn't work dropbacks much, yet I can zero in on Grant's ability to set his feet pre-throw. A stable base allowed him to hit kids in stride consistently. Not an easy choice for MVP considering the talent level around him. Size and frame checks out. Arm talent is there. Good body control and balance, feet are set and works with a stable base. Pays attention to detail and instruction from coaches. Fond of his release, blends power and accuracy well thanks to consistent hip/abdomen torque. I'd go as far as to say Hill showed off the highest potential upside of any QB present. St. Christopher's School's lead man behind center put on a show this past weekend, firing off corners and slants with authority. A rifle of an arm, heard his passes zip by. Accounted for just under 2,000 yards and just under 20 TDs as a junior. The chance to take a peek into his testing numbers has eluded me, yet a later piece will dive into his athletic performance. I'm interested because Roberts is a legitimate dual-threat over at SCS. Was very pleased to see him show up here. He'll have us in his back pocket moving forward. I'd say Roberts' release is second to [player_tooltip player_id='1298213' first='Scott' last='Lewis']'s (below) in terms of efficiency, quickness, and repeatability. Lewis checked off several boxes, he's done enough in my eyes to soar up our rankings, this on top of the tape he put out this past season. Great size, great release that no other QB at this camp could rival. Said release comes out high above the ear hole. Plenty of torque behind his throws, a consistently tight spiral, balls were on wideouts quick. Consistenly accurate. Looking back at some tape we have, looking back at the group as a whole, I can make an easy case in favor of Lewis to win MVP. Everything put forth by the junior passer was impressive, so much so that he did receive MVP votes from a QB coach in attendance.
