Part of what we try to do here at prepredzone.com is to help football players get noticed by colleges so that they can expand their options when their high school career is over. Once or twice an offseason, I focus on guys who reach out directly with film. When athletes put the time in to reach out to have their film evaluated, I try to highlight them and maybe help them get noticed before they wrap up their high school football careers.

Cisneros plays well in both press and zone coverage. His closing speed stands out on film, as does his length. That combination allows him to close quickly in zone coverage and shadow a receiver in man coverage. His hips are smooth, allowing him to transition from a backpedal to a trail technique quickly. Cisneros supports the run well with solid open-field tackling and his speed to track plays down from the opposite side of the field.

Garcia-Okoi played for the Cougars most of his career but recently moved south to Texas. One year removed from being on the Minnesota prep scene, the junior put up some nice film down south. A two-way player, he plays primarily out of the slot on offense. His straight-line speed gets him around the corner on end-a-rounds and, combined with his quickness out of his cuts, makes him a dangerous target on quick-hitting slants and out routes. That speed and catch radius also allow him to be a deep threat. Defensively, his ball skills are obvious when attacking receivers as a corner.

Essie uses his hands well at the point of attack. With obvious good upper body strength, he can extend his arms to keep blockers off his body. With that space, he gets off blocks or can at least manipulate the blocker to stay in the play. His first step off the snap is quick and decisive. Essie has position flexibility. He plays defensive end and nose in the Mustangs' three-man front. He sets the edge really well, but with his arm extension, he still makes plays while maintaining the edge. The junior holds his ground well when being double-teamed. He has a knack for putting pressure on the punter – he has multiple punt blocks. As a right tackle, Essie is explosive off the line of scrimmage, has excellent hips, and is athletic enough to pull and make blocks in space.

Tankhamvang has good hips, which allows him to transition out of his backpedal. Once out of his backpedal, he has good speed to stay with receivers on deep and crossing routes. He shows good anticipation and breaks quickly on the ball. Tankhamvang is also solid in the running game. He is a good open-field tackler and transitions from pass to run effectively. He uses his hands well to get off blocks. The sophomore is a dangerous kickoff return man – he has good vision and cutting ability to find seams in the coverage.

Johnson throws a great, catchable deep ball. His high-arching balls allow his receivers time to adjust down the field. His pure arm strength is even better on display when he makes throws in the mid-range. The throws he makes on out routes and crossing routes are on a line and with pace. I wouldn't consider Johnson a scrambling quarterback, but his subtle adjustments – stepping right or left and up into the pocket allow him to avoid the rush and find throwing lanes. He can also make throws on the move – usually on designed roll-outs. The junior makes quick decisions and quickly gets the ball out of his hand.
