Prep Redzone Louisiana continues its winter rankings process this week with the latest 2027 update, following this month's 2025 and 2026 updates and with the first 2028 rankings on the horizon.

Leading up to the complete, 150-player list on Thursday, we will count down the top 40 in more detail.

And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the 2027 cohort, including looks at debuts and stock-risers.

No. 30 [player_tooltip player_id='1250281' first='Karsen' last='Sellers'] — 6-2, 175 QB — Alexandria

The Trojans' title-game loss in December was a tough finish to an otherwise historic season for the program and impressive debut campaign for the young quarterback. Sellers completed 109 of his 171 passes (63.7%) for 1,714 yards and 27 touchdowns to just four interceptions. He not only did a nice job taking care of the football and efficiently getting the ball out to his speedy weapons, but flashed some intriguing playing ability eluding pressure, making throws on the move and off his back foot when necessary and varying arm angles to slip passes past rushers.

No. 29 [player_tooltip player_id='1606147' first='Landon' last='Johnson'] — 6-1, 175 ATH — Madison Prep

Johnson earned all-district second-team honors as one of his Chargers' top cornerbacks and receivers this fall, as well as flashing some of his arm talent as older brother Tylan's backup quarterback. "Manu" checks a lot of boxes with his length, speed, leaping ability, all-around ball skills and great hands to reliably and consistently make even more acrobatic catches in the air, through contact or on diving plays.

No. 28 [player_tooltip player_id='934574' first='Hendrix' last='Hill'] — 5-11, 175 WR — Isidore Newman

The son of former LSU and NFL linebacker Eric Hill initially hit the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar as a quick running back gashing big gains late in the Greenies' spring game at the end of his eighth-grade year. And after an injury as a freshman, Hendrix returned as a big-play receiver working predominantly out of the slot. He uses his quickness to create immediate advantages out of his release and has the speed to beat defenders deep, but also shows the strong hands, vertical athleticism and toughness to snatch and hang onto tough catches through contact.

No. 27 [player_tooltip player_id='934589' first='Collin' last='DiBetta'] — 5-11, 175 WR — Acadiana

Continuing a run of familiar families in this stretch of the countdown, the middle brother of three DiBettas at Acadiana this fall was a major factor and go-to target for senior Caden's record-setting passing performance for the typically run-heavy Wreckin' Rams. Caden is a solidly built athlete with the speed to quickly get upfield and by defenders on vertical routes or after the catch for explosive gains on screens and slants, and he's a crafty, sure-handed options around the goal line or in other short-yardage situations.

No. 26 [player_tooltip player_id='1356159' first='Jayden' last='Anding'] — 6-0, 165 DB — Ruston

The younger Anding brother stepped up as much as ever in the Bearcats' final game of the season when LSU cornerback signee Aidan was forced to exit early. Jayden went on to earn the team's Outstanding Player honors for the contest with a game-high 11 tackles, including 2.5 tackles. The sophomore safety's physicality stood out in that matchup, but he also showed when tested in coverage this fall some flashes of the ball skills that have been such a highlight of Aidan's game the past two seasons.

No. 25 [player_tooltip player_id='723530' first='Ashton' last='Stark'] — 5-10, 160 WR/DB — Lutcher

Whether in his route-running, with the ball already in his hands on offense or special teams or in his back pedal or lateral shuffle on defense, Stark is one of the smoothest, most fluid athletes in Louisiana's increasingly promising 2027 class. The sophomore was an impact player in all three phases this fall for a Bulldogs team that was among the best in the state, including an undefeated regular season. The son of former Louisiana Tech receiver Allen Stark has quick feet and quick, reliable hands and showed in his free safety role on defense that he is a willing tackler also capable of making explosive plays with his physicality.

No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id='485983' first='Emmanuel' last='Moses'] — 5-11, 180 DB — University Lab

It's officially the "ManMan" era of the Moses brothers' legacy at U-High as Keylan moves across campus to begin his college career at LSU. Even as a sophomore, the youngest of the crew made his presence felt as a hard-hitting nickel-safety, one of the most physical young defensive backs in the state effective in coverage, run support or bringing pressure off the edge.

No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id='592357' first='Sky' last='Ryan'] — 6-0, 175 DB — Lafayette Christian Academy

Another younger brother of a recent LSU standout, Sky is a long, thickly built cornerback with strong, quick hands that he uses to consistently throw receivers off their release with his jam and all-around physicality at the line. He is patient in his coverage and shows good timing and ball skills to make plays on throws his direction and a reliable tackler crashing in to wrap up screens or help against the run game.

No. 22 [player_tooltip player_id='934559' first='Javon' last='Vital'] — 5-10, 185 ATH — Hamilton Christian

The Warriors' multisport sophomore star is one of the most versatile and electric players in the state and has continued to develop physically into a stronger player more effective working through contact to go with his quickness and elusiveness. Vital earned Class 1A all-state recognition this fall with his loaded stat sheet of 171 rushes for 1,528 yards and 25 touchdowns, 81-for-136 passing for 1,239 yards and 18 touchdowns, combined 460 yards and four scores on punt and kick returns and an interception.

No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id='1593755' first='Karon' last='Eugene'] — 6-2, 170 DB — Catholic (New Iberia)

The sophomore safety and multisport standout earned all-state honors for his role helping the Panthers win their first championship since 2017, including his diving goal-line interception late to help clinch the title win. Eugene is a long, physical ballhawk who racked up 38 tackles, seven interceptions, five breakups and three blocked punts and returned three of his picks for touchdowns. As much as the title-sealing interception will headline his performance in the Superdome and his season as a whole, he also stood out flying around the field and making hard-hitting stops.
