All month long, we've been recapping the 2024 football season in Oklahoma and recognizing the best players across the state on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. We wrap up our postseason coverage with one final recognition. This is our Career Achievement Award, recognizing one player that had a significant impact during not just one or two seasons but his entire career. This year's winner is Carl Albert linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='353419' first='Caden' last='Davis'] after helping guide the Titans to three consecutive state championships, earning All State 1st Team honors in each season.

Going back to the beginning of our coverage with Davis, it was during the 2022 season and the Titans were just starting on their path to an eventual three-peat. Davis burst onto the scene as a sophomore defensive lineman. He finished that season with a little over 100 tackles and 20 sacks. He was an undersized defensive end that just knew how to get into the backfield and cause problems for opponents. Carl Albert was a young team in 2022 but as the season moved on, they continued to improve and by the time the playoffs rolled around, they steamrolled the competition, beating McAlester to win the 5A state championship. Davis would earn All State 1st Team honors on the defensive line after being one of the state's leaders in sacks.

In 2023, the Titans were absolutely loaded with future D1 talent and the expectations couldn't be higher for a team. Davis also moved back to a more fitting position and that was linebacker. Davis became the leader of a dominant defense and the Titans would have a perfect season, capturing another state championship. Davis finished the year with a team-high 185 tackles and ten sacks on the season. For the second straight year, Davis was an All State 1st Team selection but this time at linebacker.

And finally, in 2024, the target continued to be huge on the back of the Titans as Carl Albert was a heavy favorite to capture a third consecutive state championship and the 19th gold ball in program history. Davis was once again one of the top linebackers in the state. He led the team with 154 tackles and also added eight sacks but in 2024, we also saw Davis really impact the game on offense. As a sophomore, Davis would get into the game sparingly at running back and actually finished with seven touchdowns on the ground. After focusing almost solely on defense as a junior, Davis was helpful once again on offense in short yardage situations. He finished with nearly 400 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

For the 19th time in school history, Carl Albert captured the state championship and that tied Ada for the most gold balls in school history. The Titans finished off the three-peat and continued their dynasty that they've been on for the last decade. The 2024 title was their eighth championship in the last nine seasons. In addition to being an All State 1st Team selection for the third straight season, Davis was also named a finalist for our Player Of The Year award. He set the school's all time record for tackles and was the leader of a defense that was arguably the best unit in school history. The Titans shut out eight of their opponents in 2024 and they were never really tested on their way to another state championship. Earlier this month, Davis would announce his commitment to Harding.

Congratulations to [player_tooltip player_id='353419' first='Caden' last='Davis'] on another memorable season and a very memorable career with the Carl Albert Titans!
