2027 Rankings Update- Dominant LBs Added to Our List

Our new 2027 Rankings Update is live! To roll out our new class, we want to cover some of our newest additions across the state!   Today, we are going to look at our newest LBs! These guys put together impressive seasons last fall- be sure to watch their tape below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1610243' first='Harwood' last='Beeker'] had a monster year for Tuscaloosa Academy's defense last all, finding ways to make huge plays against the run and pass all year long. Beeker is a versatile MLB capable of providing huge stops against the run, great coverage over the middle of the field, and sideline-to-sideline plays against some tough-skill players. Beeker is excellent in pursuit and has great closing speed- he doesn't give up on plays, is terrific at tracking the ball carrier, and can close quickly to tackle or pick off passes. It's really impressive watching Beeker in coverage, he matches up well against a wide variety of different pass catchers, is great in zone, and makes it a lot harder for teams to move the ball against him. Beeker was unstoppable throughout his sophomore season- ending the year with 162 total tackles (66 solo, 5 for loss), 3 interceptions, and one forced fumble. Beeker was a really fun player to watch this past season and is set up for an even bigger junior year- be sure to watch his tape below in the meantime!      [player_tooltip player_id='1610249' first='Keifer' last='Hallmark'] is a huge piece of Russellville's defense- he was unstoppable last fall and made play after play against some really talented offenses across the state. Hallmark is excellent against the run- he's terrific at filling in gaps, does a great job fighting off blocks to get to the ball carrier, and frequently comes up with huge plays for loss in the backfield. Hallmark isn't strictly a run defender though, he's actually quite productive in pass defense as well. Hallmark does a great job affecting opposing passing attacks- he's really good at blitzing and generating pressure, but can also make some huge plays out in coverage as well, consistently coming away with interceptions and pass breakups. Hallmark was unreal last season- ending the year with 133 total tackles (35 solo, 10 for loss), 2.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, and one forced/recovered fumble. Watch out for Hallmark next season, he's got tons of potential and has already put together some great film you can check out below!        [player_tooltip player_id='1610285' first='Timothy' last='Rivers'] was excellent for Citronelle's defense last fall- he made countless amounts of tackles all around the field and was an all-out force for offenses to gameplan around. Rivers is a force over the middle of the field that dominates against the run- he's excellent at reading and reacting to plays, consistently fighting off blocks and putting himself in the perfect position to take down the ball carrier. Rivers is a very reliable tackler- he does a great job wrapping up and can also deliver some big hits to jar the ball free, it's impressive watching him use his speed to make those kinds of plays all around the field. Rivers is tough to stop and seems to always find a way into opposing backfields, he's been excellent for his team's defense as a sophomore and is only going to keep getting better. Rivers was incredibly reliable last season, ending the year with 118 total tackles (85 solo, 10 for loss), one sack, 2 hurries, and one forced fumble. Do yourself a favor and take a look at Rivers' tape below- he's got a ton of talent and is set up for a big junior season next fall!      [player_tooltip player_id='1288431' first='Brock' last='Pate'] has been developing really nicely in Prattville's defense, and it showed last fall. Pate has shown great potential as a pass rusher off the edge- he plays with a ton of speed and power and has a great set of pass-rush moves he uses to embarrass the OL across from him. Pate was able to generate a ton of pressures and affected opposing quarterbacks all season, and that's just what he can do against the pass. Pate is also great at defending the run- he does a great job setting the edge and frequently fights off blocks to get his hands onto the ball carrier. Pate did really well last fall and is only going to keep getting better for this Prattville defense, I'm really excited to see what he does in his junior season this fall. Pate put together a strong season last year, making big plays against some talented 7A opponents all season long. Check out Pate's tape below, he's a talented prospect with a lot of potential!      Troy Elliot came up huge for Smiths Station's defense on numerous occasions last fall- he's an every-down LB who can make huge plays all over the field. Elliot is especially dominant as a run defender- he came up with a lot of huge stops for Smiths Station last season, consistently flying through the line of scrimmage and into the backfield to rack up TFLs. If he isn't able to catch the ball carrier in the backfield, Elliot will use his speed and terrific pursuit skills to hawk down the RB and make a tackle- it's extremely impressive watching the effort he plays with, when watching him you won't find a play where he's not working as hard as he can. Elliot also provides a lot of value on special teams where he consistently comes up with huge blocks to assist his teammates in the return game. Elliot was extremely reliable for Smiths Station all last season, coming up with huge stops against the run and pass all year long.
