2025 Rankings Update: New Edge Rushers Making Their Debut

Today we will be taking a look at some new faces at edge and most are still uncommitted. These are the players that should be on the radar as they continue to receive attention and will look to find a new home in the near future.    Vigil was a player that jumped on my radar last season and is just a dawg up front. He is able to get off of blocks quickly and can create chaos in the back field, making life difficult for his opponent. He is able to put constant pressure on the QB and being violent in his pass rush beating his opponent to bring him down. He put up some eye catching numbers this season and was all over the place bringing the ball carrier down. He is uncommitted and would be a steal in my opinion to whatever program is able to sign him.     Sefcovic is an outside backer or edge rusher that is able to use his speed to create pressure on the QB. He has a quick first step which allows him to get good leverage, using his hands to get off of blocks in a hurry. He can drop back into coverage where he shows strong hands and can reel in an interception when he gets the chance. He has good vision, being able to read and react to blow up plays near the line of scrimmage. He has committed to Northern Colorado and will be a great added leader to this LB room.     Williams is a dominant edge rusher with the ability to track down ball carriers sideline to sideline, often chasing them down from behind. His quick get-off gives him a clear advantage over linemen, and once he builds momentum, he is incredibly hard to contain. Williams creates consistent chaos near the line of scrimmage, disrupting plays and keeping offenses off balance. He has the ability to bringing down quarterbacks or stop the running game, he knows how to delivers when his number is called. Uncommitted and hungry to make an impact at the next level, his relentless motor and playmaking ability make him a prospect to know.     Less is an edge rusher who consistently wreaks havoc in the backfield. His ability to shed blocks quickly allows him to track down ball carriers before plays can fully develop, often blowing up running lanes or pressuring quarterbacks into hurried decisions. Less's burst off the edge makes him a force in both the run and pass game, ensuring his presence is felt on every snap. He has the ability to drop back into pass coverage and can get the ball out at times as well. Despite flying under the radar, this uncommitted prospect has the skills to make an impact at the next level with his quickness and playmaking instincts.     Pankey is a versatile defender who seems to be in on every play. With strong hands and excellent closing speed, he can effectively shed blockers, play two gaps, and neutralize ball carriers before they gain momentum. Pankey also disrupts the passing game, showcasing the ability to pressure quarterbacks and create chaos in the backfield. His high motor and ability to read and react make him a key playmaker. With offers already on the table, Pankey is a name to know as he transitions to the next level, where his athleticism and versatility will shine.     Smyth brings tenacity and power to the edge, using his strength to push blockers back and collapse the pocket. His vision and ability to break down in open-field tackles make him a reliable defender, while his knack for getting into the backfield often disrupts plays before they start. Smyth's pass-rushing ability forces quarterbacks to constantly account for his presence, making him a dynamic threat off the edge. A two-sport athlete, Smyth has the tools to excel at the collegiate level, where his athleticism and work ethic will make him a difference-maker.
