NC Championship Weekend - Top Performers (Seniors)

These guys played their last high school football game last weekend and they all performed extremely well. Both the 1a and 2a overall game MVPs were both seniors as well as several offensive and defensive MVPs.   1a Tarboro 45 Corvian Community 24    Cole had a monster final high-school game of his career. 17 total tackles 8 of them being solo and 2 being for loss. Craddock finished his season with 153 tackles with 11 for loss.     Mason won the offensive MVP of the 1a championships. Satterfield had his best game of the season with 13 carries 146 yards and 2 touchdowns. His final stats on the season were 1,152 yards on only 107 attempts (10.8 per carry) with an even 20 touchdowns.     Best was named the 1a West Most Outstanding Offensive Player with 60 rushing yards and Touchdown. Noah is a big time APB for his team. He finished the year with 1,000+ rushing yards 13 touchdowns and 500+ receiving yards 8 touchdowns.     AJ was named the West Most Outstanding Defensive Player with 10 total tackles. Jackson, who's also the starting QB went 18-28 213 yards. AJ finished his season with 6ints 3sacks and over 30 totals touchdowns    2a Monroe 35 Northeastern 25    Jordan was named the West Most Outstanding Offensive Player with 2 catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Youngs Touchdown was an ESPN highlight worthy play, that saw him out jump a defender and score the touchdown. Young finishes the season with over 10 total touchdowns and also 7 interceptions.     Zion won the Carolina Panthers Most Valuable Player award for his play in the 2a state championship game. Lindsey finished the game with 18 rushes and 121 yards a touchdown. 18 carries were tied for his most all season, which he finished with under 130 carries all season. 8.2 yards per carry and just over 1k yards with 20 touchdowns, Lindsey had a phenomenal senior season.     Jesus won the West Defensive Player of the Game award after his 6 total tackles. 6'1 240lb DL also had 2 pass breakups which is probably more impressive than the 6 tackles. Jarquin-Ambrosio had a phenomenal senior season was the unquestioned leader on defense for the RedHawks. Jesus had almost 100 total tackles with 23 tackles for loss (6 sacks). Jesus also won the 2a Football NC Farm Bureau Sportsmanship Award.     Tyell won the 2a East Offensive Player of the Game after his 7 catch 107 yard 1 touchdown performance. Saunders led his team in total touchdowns on the season with 26! The 6' 185 speedster finished the season with just under 1,200 yards receiving and 19 touchdowns (receiving aswell)     Khamani was named the 2a East Defensive Player of the Game after his 2-interception performance in the championship game against one the top pass offensives in 2a football. Bennett also had 3 tackles, but it was his turnovers that made the biggest impact on the game. Bennett finished his season with 7 interceptions.    3a West Charlotte 14 Seventy-First 7    Noah, (despite his frame) was the "biggest" playmaker on the defensive side of the ball during the 3a State Championship game. His play earned him the 3a West Defensive Player of the Game. Collins made several plays behind the line of scrimmage and finished with 11 total tackles. Noah's biggest impact was his unwavering energy throughout the day.     Nyrus was named the 3a East Defensive Player of the Game after his 2 sack and crucial fumble recovery late in the 4th quarter for the Falcons. Moore showed up all day long on the edge on run plays and was able to somewhat contain the West Charlotte QB whenever he rolled out. Nyrus finished the season with 7 sacks and 77 total tackles     DeAndre was named the 3a East Offensive Player of the Game. Nance came into the game hobbled with an apparent knee injury but gutted it out and lead his Falcons to 7-7 tie at halftime after initially not starting the game at all. 71st had two three and out drives before inserting Dre into the game and they got their first first down of the day and on his second possession he scored. Nance finishes his career with a 55-4 win/loss record as a starting quarterback.    4a Grimsley 35 Rolesville 23    [player_tooltip player_id='620146' first='Bryce' last='Davis'] was unstoppable during the 4a State Championship game. The Duke commit tied a season high 4 sacks and that lead him into receiving the 4a West Defensive Player of the Game. Davis finished off his season with over 100 total tackles with 27 sacks!     Mitchell was named the 4a West Offensive Player of the Game in really just 1 half of the game. Summers didn't play much in the second half due to a lower leg injury, but he scored his two touchdowns in the 1st and 2nd quarters. The back had 149 yards on 26 carries with his 2 scores. He finished the season with 49 total touchdowns with almost 2400 yards rushing.     [player_tooltip player_id='371947' first='Braden' last='Atkinson'] was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player as he went 21-for-39 for 298 yards and three touchdowns. The senior and Mercer commit finishes his senior season with 53 passing touchdowns with almost 4,000 yards.     Lewis was named the 4a East Defensive Player of the Game after his play in the championship game last weekend. Lewis had 12 total tackles and played his heart out during the rematch. Xavier was able to keep pressure and maintain his edge for the majority of the game, it just wasn't enough to win the game.
