Running backs are aplenty in Ohio, but some are just so good that they refuse to go down even after contact. Here are five running backs who deserve a look on recruiting radars, even if they haven't already.

[player_tooltip player_id='1715450' first='Xion' last='Culver']

Culver, a running back for Canton-McKinley, has very good vision, with ability to make defenders miss and pick and choose his running lanes beyond the line of scrimmage. He has a compact frame and is a tough inside runner for defenders to find and locate.

[player_tooltip player_id='1540687' first='Favour' last='Akih']

Strong, tough and ripped, Akih - who carries the rock for Delaware Hayes - is one of the best prospects in the Buckeye State. He is a decisive one-cut runner who is very effective between the tackles, wasting no time pressing the field vertically. He has good top-end juice as well.

Isaac Gutierrez

Gutierrez is a good outside runner. He can run through contact and stay balanced in the open field as well as anybody. The Avon running back has a bright future.

[player_tooltip player_id='1065301' first='Brandon' last='White']

White has a frame almost identical to the first two tailbacks on this list, but what sets him apart from the other two is his speed for top program Saint Edward. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound running back has juice that others don't have. He is also good as a receiver out of the backfield, giving the Eagles an added wrinkle to their offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1178351' first='Tyrese' last='Buchanan']

Buchanan - White's teammate for the Eagles - has the size and frame to run through contact. Primarily an off-tackle runner, he has enough speed to turn the corner and serves as a nice yin to White's yang to give the Eagles a one-two punch in the backfield.
