Championship Week: Northeast Macon v Toombs Co Standouts

The Mercer signee filled out the stat sheet in all columns. He led Toombs with 5 catches for 103 yards and scored on a 47 yard TD catch in the 1st Half and totaled 109 return yards on 3 touches including a 92-yd KO return for a score. On the defensive side of the ball he played good coverage and had a couple of crucial PBUs. Athletic guy that has great body control and good hands. He scored a TD on 4 catches for 59 yards and was targeted 0 times in the secondary. Listed at 5'9 187, he plays and looks a lot bigger in pads. Has a good nose for the football and finishes tackles. Sampson entered this season as a Pre Season All State LB and got some attention in the offseason from several programs including the University of North Alabama. Solid build with a strong lower body and built to be an every down back. He rushed for over 2500 yards this season and had a combined 4000+ in his Junior and Sophomore years. Was sidelined with a knee injury last Fall but he showed today, and this year, that he is 100% healthy. Good size at 6'1 190, Roy is the type of player every defensive coach dreams about. He can play any of the skill positions and plays with a "controlled recklessness". Glover accounted for over 2500 total yards this season proving to be one of the top dual threat QBs in the Central Georgia Area. He had a good Championship combining for 165 total yards with 3 TDs. He has nice touch on his passes and does a good job throwing on the run. He only had 7 touches on the day but averaged over 6.5 yards per carry and scored on a 12-yd TD late in the 4th quarter. Strong physical back that is hard to bring down on first contact. Keeps his balance and has the speed to breakaway in the open field.
