2025 Biggest Rankings Risers: Defense

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Evaluating the 2025 defensive prospects that made the biggest jump in the updated PRZ state rankings.</h2>    Robinson is one of the top two-way lineman prospects in northern California and made a massive jump in the updated rankings. At 6'4” 265 lbs. he's a plus athlete that shows great initial quickness and natural movement skills. He packs power and strength at the POA being able to engage blockers and then shed to free himself up. On both sides of the ball he accelerates through contact to control the LOS and dominate opponents. Well coached at one of the top programs in the state he's got great technique and hand usage with a variety of moves at his disposal. Most likely projects as an offensive lineman at the college level, he entered the season with zero D1 offers but has seen several come in late.   4 Offers: Nevada, Colorado State, Idaho, Minot State      Garretson jumped to the #16 ranked DL prospect in the 2025 state rankings. At 6'7” 240 lbs. he's got great growth potential is his frame and is an exceptional two-way athlete with elite size, length, and versatility, capable of playing both offense and defense at the next level. On defense, he disrupts the line of scrimmage with powerful inside punches, uses his length to control blockers, and sets the edge with intensity. As a pass rusher, he's able to work around blockers or use his strength to drive them back and collapse the pocket. Since the spring, he picked up nine D1 offers. Originally committed to San Diego State before flipping and signing to Arkansas where he was recruited as a TE.   9 Offers: San Diego State, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington, UC Davis, Idaho, Cal Poly, New Mexico, Arkansas, Cal      Silverman continued to climb the state rankings after a strong senior campaign that saw him rack up 170 total tackles, 31 TFL, two sacks, and seven forced fumbles. Standing 6'1” and weighing 210 lbs., he combines natural athleticism with excellent speed and movement skills. He shows impressive closing speed and is quick to diagnose plays, putting himself in position to make impactful tackles. Known for his physicality at the point of attack, he delivers powerful hits with good leverage and leg drive. A three-down linebacker at the college level, he is effective both against the run and in coverage. Signed to Nevada over seven other D1 offers.   8 Offers: Nevada, Washington State, Wyoming, San Jose State, UC Davis, Idaho, Cal Poly, Portland State      The 6'6” 230 lb. edge out of Clayton Valley jumped over 100 spots to just outside the top 100 overall and the #14 DL 2025 prospect. Ideal size, length, and growth potential for the Power 4 level after signing to Oregon State on early signing day. Does a great job using his length to his advantage to maintain separation and keep blockers outside his body. Shows excellent hand usage and quickness to fight through contact on his way to the ball carrier. Flashes the ability to bend off the edge while maintaining outside leverage to contain. Collected nine D1 offers from a variety of western region FBS/FCS programs. Originally committed to Wyoming in June but flipped to Oregon State in October.   9 Offers: Oregon State, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, NAU, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, Washington State      Cravin moved up 80 overall spots and lands in the top 25 of DB prospects across the state. 5'11” 175 lbs. he is a skilled and versatile athlete with the potential to be a standout college cornerback. With a 10.7 100-meter time, he has elite speed and can excel as either a lockdown cover corner or a physical presence in run support. He is a strong tackler, capable of breaking down in space and bringing down ball carriers effectively. A physical corner, he uses his hands well to gain leverage in coverage. Cravin has a great instinct for the ball, consistently positioning himself to make plays and be a game-changer. He collected six D1 offers before committing and signing to Idaho.   6 Offers: Idaho, Portland State, Montana, Northern Arizona, Wyoming, UC Davis      Calhoun's a versatile athlete that jumped 75 spots to #82 overall and the ninth ranked two-way player in the state. Projects as a safety where he excelled in one of the top programs across the state. At 6'1” 190 lbs. he's got a great nose for the football with the ability to play sideline to sideline and line up all over the field. He's got good twitch and reactionary quickness to trigger to the ball and close space in a hurry. Excels in coverage but can also come downhill to be effective in run support or as a blitzer in pass rush situations. Brings strong contact to his tackles, he never hesitates when breaking on the ball and drives through contact to finish ball carriers to the ground.
