Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Garretson jumped to the #16 ranked DL prospect in the 2025 state rankings. At 6’7” 240 lbs. he’s got great growth potential is his frame and is an exceptional two-way athlete with elite size, length, and versatility, capable of playing both offense and defense at the next level. On defense, he disrupts the line of scrimmage with powerful inside punches, uses his length to control blockers, and sets the edge with intensity. As a pass rusher, he’s able to work around blockers or use his strength to drive them back and collapse the pocket. Since the spring, he picked up nine D1 offers. Originally committed to San Diego State before flipping and signing to Arkansas where he was recruited as a TE.
9 Offers: San Diego State, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington, UC Davis, Idaho, Cal Poly, New Mexico, Arkansas, Cal

Garretson has long been one of the top two-way players across Northern California, and had a big time off-season and spring where he stacked next level offers. He has the ideal size for the tight end position at 6’7″ and change, and has been committed to San Diego State since the beginning of September. Since then, much has changed as he reeled in an offer from the Cal Golden Bears last week and then that was followed by a big time SEC offer from Arkansas. After taking a official visit to the Razorbacks he flipped his commitment to the SEC school and is now off the board once again and leading the top team in the Northern Section in Pleasant Valley.

Garretson is a freak athlete at 6’7″ and moves extremely well for his size while a terrific overall athlete and has tons of upside at the next level. He has really done a good job at packing on weight this off-season and is filling out his frame and should have a huge Senior season. Although having quite a quiet winter, he has pulled in some offers in recent weeks and his recruitment has really taken off. The Pleasant Valley product has been offered by SDSU and Sacramento State, and it should not be too long until other FCS+ schools join in and offer.

Garretson is a freaky two-way athlete that can play either offense or defense event at the next level and is one of the states top two-way players while having elite size and length for the next level. He is a very physical and violent blocker on the line that can naturally go up in high point balls in traffic while a mismatch nightmare against anyone at the high school level. Defensively, he resets the LOS quickly with a heavy inside punch, chokes out blockers with his length and can quickly get off blocks while violently setting the edge when needed. His length, frame and ability to pack on more size makes him have elite upside at the next level, and it should not be long until a G5/power five school comes calling and offers.

Garretson had 23 tackles for a loss with 10 sacks for Pleasant Valley last season.
I’d like to see him use his length a little better to create separation instead of engaging and letting the offensive lineman get to his body. But he has plus strength and is a very good tackler. He’s a good athlete who also plays tight end and basketball.
Garretson has the size and athleticism that colleges love and he definitely has the upside to gain some offers.
