My second installment of the first annual All-Jerzak team—with an extended break as my content will be very showcase-heavy for the rest of 2024—includes players from schools large and small. This version happens to be very skill position–heavy, but interestingly enough, it doesn't include any quarterbacks.

Booh is a physical receiver who is good in the open field. He gets off the line of scrimmage nicely and has a great catch radius. That physicalness translates into Booh being a willing blocker and makes him a good tackler as a defensive back. As a defensive back, he plays the ball well and makes good adjustments when the ball is in the air. His ability to adjust to the ball translates easily to offense, as he does not need a perfectly thrown ball to make a catch. He has one-handed catches on his resume and throws in which he has to get up in the air to pull down the catch.

Trout is an explosive runner. He is best when he can make one cut and get downhill. He has good speed and is tough to bring down in the open field. Once he gets space, he has another gear to pull away from defenders. The sophomore has a knack for finding space and has solid footwork to cut without having to slow much of his momentum. He can power through tackles and use a stiff arm to evade tacklers. The running back is also a threat in the passing game. Trout excels running between the tackles and can also set the edge as a blocker or lead up the hole and take on linebackers.

Plamann has good speed to the edge, and he can outrun all but the fastest guys on the field in open space. His biggest strength is his feet. He makes people miss in the open field and makes it look effortless. He can make multiple cuts in a short space. Plamann has excellent vision – especially when picking his way through traffic between the tackles. His balance also stands out. He isn't going to go down if tacklers don't wrap him up.

I could only find limited video on Gilbertson, but what I could find showed a tough inside runner with a low center of gravity and good balance. Gilbertson is a powerful runner with an explosion in his lower body that allows him to run through or over tacklers. Normally running between the tackles, he shows good footwork, allowing him to find space in the normally congested area between the tackles and often between the guards.

Burckhardt was the most complete underclassmen receiver I saw in 2024. He has good length and uses it well – especially with him not shy about extending his body in traffic for a ball. He is explosive off the line of scrimmage and is tough to press. A good route runner, he can go from 60 miles per hour to zero in just a couple of steps – making him great on comeback routes and hook routes. He is an asset in the running game, too. He is a physical blocker on the outside. A two-way player, Burckhardt shows great heart – and speed – running down sure touchdowns from behind as a defensive back. He has on tape, multiple times where he ran ball carriers down from twenty yards behind.

My second installment of the first annual All-Jerzak team—with an extended break as my content will be very showcase-heavy for the rest of 2024—includes players from schools large and small. This version happens to be very skill position–heavy, but interestingly enough, it doesn't include any quarterbacks.
