Queen City Senior Bowl: Wide Receivers

The Queen City Senior Bowl is an annual All-Star game in the Charlotte Metro Area which honors 80 of the best football players from surrounding high schools. Proceeds from the game benefit the Metro School, which teaches and develops kids with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. The game is in its 6th season of service to the Charlotte Community. This article will feature the Wide Receivers selected to play in the All-Star Game.    Major has been a player for the last two years which has had a major impact on the success of the Lake Norman Charter program on both sides of the ball. Major makes plays against defensive backs in 1 on 1 coverage routinely. Major is dangerous as a returner on special teams and is a ballhawk as a defensive back. Great speed and explosion with the ball. Lake Norman Charter as an Independent program in the NCHSAA did not qualify for the playoffs, but Major gave them a special season to build on in future years.     Last season Justice set many records for catches & yardage in both school & Gaston County history. 62 catches for 1303 yards & 8 touchdowns later, Justice recently received offers from Dickinson College & Brevard Colleges. Justice projects as a slot WR on the next level. Justice has excellent speed & makes tough catches routinely. Justice has helped lead the Raptors to the 2nd round of the playoffs with his consistent play throughout the season.     Alex has exploded onto the scene in the last two years as a go-to receiver for the Trojans. Alex excels in making very tough catches against corners in 1 on 1 coverage. Alex has good speed and very strong hands. Alex has expanded his game to be a threat in the quick screen game and is a strong blocker on the outside in the run game. Alex helped lead the Trojans to an 8-2 season and a playoff berth, a strong performance in a year where people were unsure what to expect from Olympic.     Playing for a very talented and well-coached Providence Day team, Jaylen runs excellent routes and displays a high football IQ. Jaylen projects as a slot receiver on the next level, but he can line up outside if necessary. Jaylen shows very good speed in and out of his breaks and catches the ball well. Jaylen has an offer from Marshall University. Jaylen came on strong mid-season and helped lead the Chargers to the State Championship Game, where he played well individually in aiding Providence Day to score 39 points.     JJ is listed as a Wide Receiver, but he can play running back, cornerback, safety, and linebacker on the football field. No matter what position, JJ shows an exceptional competitive drive. JJ has very good speed and can make plays in space with the football in his hands. As a wide receiver, JJ excels in winning against corners in 1 on 1 coverage. JJ helped lead the Green Wave to a 1st Round playoff victory where he caught a touchdown pass. They face a strong 2nd round opponent this week in the South Point Red Raiders.     Jaiden is a very fast slot receiver who can line up outside in certain formations/situations. Jaiden also runs track and has been timed at 4.4 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Jaiden has the skill set to also play defensive back and is a major threat in both the kick return and punt return game. Jaiden currently has offers to play college football. Jaiden helped lead the Spartans to a first-round playoff victory with some big plays to help the offense produce.     Chinua is a tall receiver who has been highly recruited by several Division 1 colleges and universities to play football on the next level. He is a bit under the radar for where he plays, but he is a dynamic red-zone/possession type of player who can high-point the football well in single coverage. Chinua has good speed and hands as well. I think Chinua's best football is ahead of him where he can be in an offense that highlights his strengths and attributes to the max.     Brian has committed to play college football at Limestone, and they are getting a special player. Brian is a slot receiver who has developed a penchant for making athletic catches against multiple defenders. Brian has very good speed and can create separation in coverage against defensive backs in man coverage very well. Brian helped lead the Patriots to a big first-round victory, and they find themselves in a spotlight game this Friday against the Hough Huskies.     Henry was named the South Piedmont Conference Special Teams Player Of The Year last season. At 6'0 and 190 pounds, Henry currently holds an offer to play football at UNC-Pembroke. Henry has been his team's leading receiver this season and runs excellent routes. Henry also displays strong hands and can come through in the clutch. Henry helped lead the Trojans to the playoffs once again this season, however they came up just a bit short in their first-round game.     At 5'10 and 180 pounds, Dominic is an excellent slot receiver who excels over the middle of the field on a variety of routes. Dominic has very strong route-running skills & can recognize man coverage & run away from defensive backs, or recognize zone and sit in the holes for his QB. Dominic should have a lot more recruiting attention, period. Dominic helped the Bulldogs win their conference championship and a first-round playoff victory. They face a tough team in the Kings Mountain Mountaineers in the 2nd round at home this Friday.     Dequadre is a special talent, plain and simple. He has made a ton of big plays throughout his career at Butler. Dequadre is a dangerous return man on special teams, and he can play at a high level as a defensive back also. As a receiver, Dequadre runs excellent routes & has great speed. He has offers from Lenoir-Rhyne & Gardner-Webb among others. Dequadre made some big plays this past Friday Night in the first round of the playoffs, yet the Bulldogs came up just short against a tough East Forsyth team on the road.
