NORTH DAKOTA-- Now that all we got left is the North Dakota Football State Championship games to look forward to on Friday, we figured we would take a look at the 2027s that made big splashes this year. Two of which we "called it" on how well their 2024 seasons would go based on what we saw and another EDGE rusher that we were intrigued with in Fargo too that relished that attention to detail and is now reaping the benefits of that coaching from college coaches.

Kai is one very few 2027s on the 11AAA All Conference team in North Dakota and its easy to see why when you watch the tape. His suddenness with his speed pops out extremely quickly and you can tell it can sometimes catch the cameraman off-guard with how much speed there is for this sophomore. Kai also show off great elusiveness in the open field with his change of direction. He also shows off excellent athleticism with his catch radius as this Shanley receiving core is going to be a fun to reckoned with over the coming years in my eyes.

Another 2027 member of the 11AAA All Conference team at tailback hailing from the Deacons is tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1292624' first='Corban' last='Youngmark']. I got some great glimpses of this young man's skillsets at the NDSU Prospect Camp this summer and not only did he live up to the hype with his skillsets, his testing numbers pointed quickly as above and beyond what you are looking for when evaluating underclassmen running backs at Corban's 5'10 205 pound frame. I love the transitional burst that Corban gets in the late first to early second level as you can tell this young man has game-speed that turns in another year once that open field is presented to him. The change of direction is also there for the taking for Corban, as I would expect to see it flash even more once he gets his sophomore tape up and at us here soon after the season.

Another stud we uncovered at the NDSU prospect camp this summer was Bismarck St Mary's Central 2027 tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1314732' first='Beckett' last='Price'] as I will say year after year, that camp has been vital to finding us a slough of new underclassmen in the Midwest. Beckett's first looks on tape show off captavating athleticism with his change of direction and built in awareness with his football IQ. I feel like his straight-line speed erupts even further as a pass-catcher and I was impressed at NDSU this summer and the growth I just saw on tape with his hands in high traffic areas. Beckett is also impressive with his balance around the edges of the field as another tailback that made some big noise and showed, what you see in Fargo shows a great glimpse of football futures as looking back, running backs have especially been a hot commodity

Originally I had Elijah graded as a defensive linemen, but holy cow has he made an impact on the Tommies offensive line this season. It seemed like almost every clip I could find, Elijah used his balanced pad-level, feisty hands, and versatile blocking sets to dismantle defensive linemen onto the grass field. The 6'3 205 pounder plays miles bigger than those measurables show off but also offer a great frame for development in a college strength and conditioning program and I am sure he will fill out more in the coming years. You can gauge the determination of this young man's upside as one that over the coming years will grow even further. He will very likely get a bump by next rankings update.

You can take an quick and easy guess of where I got my first look of scouting [player_tooltip player_id='1314654' first='Preston' last='Arndt'] last summer. What I recall is the motor that this kid played with in every rep at NDSU and that has easily transitioned nicely to his 2024 season tape. He was also a DE prospect that I felt took great attention to detail taking the coaching from college coaches and putting it in play and if you watch how much his technique has developed since last summer you will see how instinctive Preston has gotten with his athletic swim moves rep after rep after rep. I also noticed on tape he has grown with his agile first step off the snap which appears even quicker from this summer. Fired up to watch Preston continue to grow over the coming years as another I like the chances he has at the next-level out of the LLM.
