Byron Center is a having a very good season and will take on East Lansing in the division 2 semi finals this upcoming Saturday. They have really good team speed and every player on their team plays fast as well. Their whole team is playing high level football and they are getting closer to winning a state title. I wanted to break down a few of their key players and take a closer look at what makes them so great.

[player_tooltip player_id='899559' first='Landon' last='Tungate'] | QB | @landon_tungate | Hudl

Tungate is so confident running this offense that you can tell it allows him to play fast. On read option plays he never hesitates to get up field and pick up yards. Tungate has good play strength and that combined with his speed allows him to have no problem breaking tackles. Tungate does a nice job of keeping his eyes down the field and it allows him to find receivers as they come open. Tungate has a strong arm and can connect on deep passes. I like that Tungate can make accurate throws, whether he is rolling out to his left or his right.

[player_tooltip player_id='602273' first='Isaac' last='Lee'] | WR | @isaac_lee_10 | Hudl

[player_tooltip player_id='602273' first='Isaac' last='Lee'] is explosive off the line of scrimmage. He has good speed and change of direction and it allows him to get open on double moves. Lee certainly is a receiver who can stretch the field and him and Tungate have connected on several deep balls this year. Lee does have the ability to make contested catches and his body control allows him to adjust to the ball well. Lee also will leap up over defenders and come down with catches. Lee does a great job of playing fast while staying under control. His game is very smooth and he does not have much wasted movement when running his routes. I like how Lee can put his foot in the ground and work back to the quarterback and secure a catch. [player_tooltip player_id='602273' first='Isaac' last='Lee'] is a great all around football player who is a true difference make for this Byron Center team

Chris Brown | DL | Hudl

Brown has very good strength in the upper body and it allows him to hold the point of attack and get off blocks well. Brown has good agility and quickness off the snap and it allows him to rip past opposing blockers. With Brown's strength, holding the point of attack against a double team is no problem for him. Brown is a guy you can tell has a good natural feel for rushing the passer. Brown is a good football player who has the versatility to line up inside directly over the center, or as a 2-technique, where he is lined up directly over the opposing offensive guard. It looked like they would have him at the 1-technique as well, where is lined up between the opposing center and the opposing offensive guard. The 0-2 technique are positions he can all play at a high level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255765' first='Luke' last='Laska'] | LB/RB | @LukeLaska | Hudl

You can tell that Laska loves to fly around and make tackles for his football team. He plays fast and aggressively and shows the burst to get into the back field and create tackles for loss. Laska can really turn up field quickly when he is handed the ball at running back. Laska reads running plays well and can quickly get into a position to make a tackle. He does have the ability to get off blocks as well and shows very good explosive strength. Laska is another great football player on this team and is making a big impact on offense and defense.
