The Scoop: Recruting Activities, New Name Tips 10/15/24

The Scoop report is a college coach report emailed directly to my Exclusive list of "Scouting New England—College Coaches Group" biweekly. It is meant to bring "immediate light and attention" to any prospect listed in the report for evaluation purposes by college programs.   I encourage all parents, fans, and coaches to continue sending tips on rising student-athletes from the New England region. This action assists the regional scouts in learning more about prospects and also updates us on any current recruitment activities within the region. On October 5, 2024, he announced an offer from Harvard. On film, it appears that Milton Academy makes good use of his skill set by aligning him out wide and in tight. He can block 2nd level defenders. Has soft hands and can pluck the ball in the air naturally.      [player_tooltip player_id='1249158' first='Brian' last='Lloyd'] is a 6'3 180 defensive back who attends Williston North Hampton in Massachusetts. On October 9th, 2024, he announced offers from Bryant and Georgetown. This is after he announced his commitment to Cornell back in March 2024. He was formerly out of Westview HS in San Diego, California, where he spent the first four years of his HS career. He offers obvious length and quickness in his skill set that coaches will love to have.      [player_tooltip player_id='404214' first='Vincent' last='Busa'], He has made a name for himself this fall season, 2024. Vincent announced his first offer from Stonehill on June 29, 2024, after being mainly positioned as an OLB. Busa has been used on offense as an RB this fall season and is turning in good numbers while competing within the Catholic League of Massachusetts. He has an older brother, Anthony, a freshman attending Stonehill. His running back performances and early season accolades as an RB have been so impressive he has picked up an offer from the University of New Hampshire on October 8, 2024. On October 10, 2024, he picked up an offer from Rhode Island. On October 15, he picked up an offer from Citadel. Avi was ranked before he reclassed to Milton as the #6 LB in New England and #1 in MA. He lost last year (junior year for 2025) to injury and transferred/reclassified to Milton Academy as a 2026.   This season he is averaging 12 tackles per game including 5 TFL. He has good sideline-to-sideline speed and is powerful at the point of attack. He plays downhill and tackles with low pad level while striking through the body.      [player_tooltip player_id='945059' first='CJ' last='Farrell']. He is now a reclass 2027 prospect who attended Milford High School in Massachusetts as a freshman and has reclassed to a NEPSAC program at St. Marks in Massachusetts. CJ broke the varsity lineup while at Milford as a freshman starter on varsity. [player_tooltip player_id='945059' first='CJ' last='Farrell'] is a versatile prospect with the "it" factor. He is fearless and has a high level of athletic coordination. He is fast and has obvious next-level speed that matches his skill set. His film pops, and his lean, muscular frame shows his work in the weight room. A surefire scholarship prospect that will have many opportunities after all is said and done.      6'5” 250|| Worcester Academy 27'|| TE/OT/DE/DL||#508-422-6252|| HC: <a href="https://x.com/BandytheCoach">@BandytheCoach</a> #508-873-6693   [player_tooltip player_id='1293977' first='Kyle' last='Keaveney'] was positioned at TE before this season and has been repositioned to the offensive line at tackle this season. He is now 6'5, 250, and he turns 16 years old this month. His Head Coach, Jeremey Bandy, a former Harvard Offensive line coach, says, "Keaveney has been one of the most natural OL kids I've ever seen…. He could be a Power 5 kid if he continues to develop… kid is tough and physical!!" A peek of his early 2024 season film displays a good power block, uses good pad level, can zone block, and is athletic and fluid enough to execute an effective pull block.      [player_tooltip player_id='745929' first='Christopher' last='Talabi-Oates'] is known to cause consistent pressure and havoc on opponent quarterbacks while protecting the edge. His film displays the obvious quickness he has coming off the edge. In three games this season, he has accumulated 16 quarterback hits/pressures and 5 sacks. I've seen CJ perform in showcase settings and also have spoken with him several times. His character checks many boxes, and his work ethic is very high. He will do anything asked to make his team win and to improve his skill set. He takes pride in his technique and is always looking to learn more about how he can become a better athlete. He is also a very strong student in the classroom.      [player_tooltip player_id='1317577' first='Hudson' last='Garrity'], an 8th grader who attends Derby Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts, announced an offer from UMass on October 14, 2024. I hear he is a very gifted student-athlete who has advanced athletic skills at an early age.      [player_tooltip player_id='600112' first='Tristan' last='Yepdo'] Earned offers in late summer 2024 from Umass and the University of Rhode Island. Yepdo is a 6'1, 185 DB/WR/ATH. He has a lean, well-developed frame with good coverage skills over the top as a ball hawk. At safety, he is instinctive and will come down hard to deliver the boom. He is also having a great season on offense as a WR. His long arms allow him to easily pluck the ball from the air. He easily passes an eye test.      [player_tooltip player_id='1429254' first='Darius' last='Johnson'] is a matchup nightmare on the perimeter. He stands 6'3", and weighs 195 pounds. He attends South Portland High School in Maine. His athleticism stands out on film and will have college coaches taking an interest during and after this season. He makes back shoulder catches look easy, high-tops the ball when targeted, and gets up the field quickly after the catch. Appears to understand the route tree and can bend. His 2024 early-season film displays enough clips to spark his recruitment.
