The juniors have been very impressive this season with many 2026s cementing themselves as possible next-level prospects. I jumped into the 2026 film room to review five juniors who have been on the rise this season. You'll need to make sure your

The 2024 season might go down as the year of the 2026 QBs, with how many junior signal-callers have had breakout seasons. One of those QBs is Elkhorn North's [player_tooltip player_id='795746' first='Ethan' last='Beachy'], who has played a very clean game while leading the Wolves to a 7-1 record thus far. Beachy has completed 71 of 134 pass attempts (53%) for 1,492 yards, 17 touchdowns (2 interceptions), and a QBR of 126. Watching Ethan's tape, I was very impressed with his ability to read the defense and decision-making in his passes. He does a great job identifying the weak spots in the defense and getting the ball out quickly. Beachy displays solid arm talent with the zip to make passes into tight windows and the touch to find receivers in stride deep downfield. Ethan also flashes nice mobility to evade pass rushers and when tucking it to run it himself (208 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns). Definitely someone to watch this offseason!

This is a tree I've been barking up for a while now for colleges to start paying attention to ASAP! [player_tooltip player_id='487755' first='Ethan' last='Latta'] has been a big-time playmaker for the Tigers since his freshman year and has continued into his junior season. Latta is a versatile offensive weapon with 851 rushing yards, 426 receiving yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, and eight receiving touchdowns. He's incredibly twitchy with the ball in his hands, using his shifty footwork to cut and juke his way through defenses. He possesses excellent vision that allows him to find cutback lanes with the burst and acceleration to explode through those gaps. He has also tallied 52 tackles, four interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense. Latta does a great job playing safety, where he can play center-fielder and use his speed to close on the ball in a flash. He is very instinctive with elite ball skills that make any pass a 50/50 ball when he's in coverage. Something tells me that Ethan is just starting to heat up, as he's had his best offensive performances in the past three weeks. Watch out, Class D1!

Here's another two-way star who has been producing since year 1. Cardinal's junior [player_tooltip player_id='795471' first='Jack' last='Poppe'] is back making plays on both sides of the ball with 443 receiving yards, 72 rushing yards, seven receiving touchdowns, a rushing touchdown, 54 tackles, three TFLs, a sack, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble. The best way to describe Jack is that he's a flat-out gamer who can strike regardless of how you get him the ball. His vision, patience for his blockers, and ability to find creases in the defense allow him to take short passes for long gains. Poppe also has the straight-line speed to threaten defenses vertically and be a threat that way. Solid route running allows him to create separation. His basketball background also shines through on the gridiron with his ability to play above the rim in jump ball situations. Defensively, Poppe has a good nose for the football with a knack for forcing turnovers. He flashes great sideline-to-sideline range with the speed to close on the ball quickly. I believe Poppe is a player who will receive a lot of attention from football and basketball programs this offseason!

The Wolverine's offense received a nice boost with the addition of junior [player_tooltip player_id='795475' first='Damani' last='Allen'] this offseason. So far, Damani has been the Wolverine's top target in the passing game, leading the team with 261 receiving yards and two touchdowns. I attended the Westview game against Papio South, where Damani had a tremendous touchdown reception in which he caught the pass through contact, broke two tackles, and then turned on the jets on his way to the endzone. Damani's size (6'3", 185 lbs) allows him to play with a physical edge over defenders, especially on jump balls where he can out-muscle and out-leap smaller DBs. Good concentration to hang on to the ball through contact. Allen also displays good contact balance that allows him to stay upright when fighting through tackles. Damani has a good burst upfield with the acceleration to break away from second and third-level defenders. Keep an eye on this guy!

St. Paul's [player_tooltip player_id='1395245' first='Bradyn' last='Hazen'] has quietly been having a very productive junior campaign. Through 8 games, Hazen has tallied 88 tackles while playing defensive end for the Wildcats. Despite some raw areas to Bradyn's game, there is still a lot of potential here with his size, length, and pursuit of the ball. Hazen plays with a tireless motor that keeps him pumping from snap to whistle, with a good nose for the football and enough closing speed to track down ball carriers. Hazen's strength and quick first step allow him to generate a good initial push at the line of scrimmage and penetrate the backfield. There's a lot to like here as Bradyn continues to fine-tune his game and gain, adding some bulk to his frame.
