Mid-Season Highlight Film Reviews

Lots of good ball is being played, and we are seeing players improve their game before our eyes. Specifically showing good down blocks, driving defenders out of the game. He is showing solid pass blocking in both vertical and jump sets, with the ability to mirror the pass rusher. Playing CB for Louisa County, he provides shutdown coverage and tough run support. He displays very good change of direction and acceleration which plays a big role in his success on the field. He plays with physical toughness, willing to be physical against WRs in coverage. He is a very good tackler, who can come downhill and shed blocks to make tackles on the first level and can be trusted to make open-field tackles. He is versatile to line up as an in line TE, Wing, and Full Back. His route running has improved, showing good change of direction at the top of the route to create separation. His size makes him a big target for the QB, and his athleticism allows him to beat linebackers, and his size allows him to beat defensive backs. He is a physical blocker, continuing his excellence in Gap and Zone schemes. An EDGE player, he has a powerful first step out of his two-point stance, keeps his eyes up reading the ball and reacts to the play. He pass rushes with speed, spin move, and power with very good pass rush finish on the QB. He displays good processing and reaction at the snap in his Run/Pass reads. He comes downhill with good quickness and explosiveness, using his hands to engage blocks and fill the gap. Shows good range against the run and the pass. He displays good zone coverage, reading the eyes of the QB and understanding route concepts to disrupt the throw.
