KY ATH to Watch in Week 10

As we approach the end of the month of October, the 2024 high school football regular season is coming down to its final two weeks in the state of Kentucky. This has been yet another exciting season in the Bluegrass state! With that in mind, I wanted to focus on some players that have stood out to me this season that I believe are worth keeping an eye on in Week 10. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, here are some ATH to watch this week who make an impact at multiple positions.    [player_tooltip player_id='401921' first='Malik' last='Kirby'] is a player who has been on my radar for a while now and has continued to stand out this season. On offense, he has been very impressive at receiver, catching 24 passes for 391 yards and six touchdowns in seven games. Kirby is electric with the ball in his hands, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes and screens into big plays. He has also shown the ability to use his speed to pose as a threat in the deep passing game. On defense, Kirby has been very impressive on the outside at corner, accounting for four interceptions, 20 tackles, and three tackles for loss so far this season. Malik doesn't currently hold any offers but he should be a player to continue to watch over the next couple seasons. Kirby will be looking to lead the Cardinals to victory against a very talented Murray team this Friday.     [player_tooltip player_id='1160659' first='Lincoln' last='Acree'] is another player who has made an impact on both sides of the ball this season. Acree has been very impressive at receiver this season, catching 30 passes for 483 yards and seven touchdowns in six games. He is a skilled route runner, using smooth breaks in his routes to create separation. Acree has also shown the ability to use his speed to get up the field and pick up yards after the catch. Lincoln has also returned one punt for a touchdown and has made an impact on defense this season, accounting for nine tackles, one tackle for loss, and three interceptions. Acree holds multiple offers and I expect more to come his ways has he has the talent to play at the next level. Lincoln and the Eagles will be looking to continue their winning streak on the road against Muhlenberg County this Friday.     [player_tooltip player_id='1577038' first='Byron' last='Kirkland-Lundy'] is a player who is coming off a record-breaking performance last week in which he rushed for 490 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the season, he has carried the ball 107 times for 1,368 yards and 22 touchdowns in eight games. Byron is a hard runner, showing the ability to keep his legs churning through contact while keeping his balance to break tackles with ease without losing stride. He has also shown the speed to run away from the defense on long runs. Kirkland-Lundy has also caught one touchdown pass and has played a key role on defense, accounting for 44 tackles, one tackle for loss, and two interceptions so far. While he doesn't currently hold any offers, Byron will definitely be a player to keep an eye on the rest of the season. Byron and the Hornets will look to continue their success on the road against Green County this week.     [player_tooltip player_id='735546' first='Dane' last='Parsley'] is a player who has been on my radar for a while now and has continued to impress this season. On offense, he is Warren East's starting quarterback and has completed 96/165 passes for 1,565 yards, 16 touchdowns, and four interceptions in seven games. Dane has a strong arm which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He has also shown true dual threat ability, running the ball 42 times for 421 yards and nine touchdowns. Parsley has also made an impact on defense, leading his team with 44 tackles along with one tackle for loss and two interceptions. Dane currently holds offers from Campbellsville UT Martin, and Penn, and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play multiple positions at the next level. Parsley will be looking to lead Warren East to victory against Logan County this Friday.     My final ATH watch in the state of Kentucky in Week 10 is [player_tooltip player_id='1584336' first='DJ' last='Wren']. Wren has been very impressive out of the backfield this season, running the ball 130 times for 990 yards and 12 touchdowns in six games. He has explosive speed which he uses to burst through the running lane with a sense of urgency then run away from the defense on long runs. Wren also has the shown the elusiveness and contact balance to make defenders miss in the open field. DJ has also caught one touchdown pass, returned one kickoff for a touchdown, and has made an impact on defense this season, accounting for 50 tackles, four tackles for loss, and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. Wren doesn't currently hold any offers but he should continue to be a player to watch over the next couple seasons. DJ and the Wildcats will be looking to pick up a win on the road against Pineville this Friday.
