I scouted the annual Northeastern Kansas contest of Wildcats in Holton on October 11.

The Holton Wildcats were defeated 31-7 by the Hayden Wildcats in a Class 3A district contest.

Here is a look at four Holton athletes who caught my eye in the loss.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115789' first='Cael' last='Frazier'], LB/RB, 6'0”, 180, Holton, ‘26

Frazier is ranked No. 105 overall by Prep Redzone. He is a hard-nosed football player who runs well downhill. His speed and strength are perfect for the linebacker or running back position. He is not going to turn any heads in the 40, but put the kid in pads and he will wreak havoc on the football field. He understands how to finish tackles on defense and run through tackles as a ball carrier. I would not hesitate to recommend him to college coaches in the MIAA, KCAC, Heart Of America, or Jayhawk Conferences.

[player_tooltip player_id='1311569' first='Korban' last='Wilson'], K/P, 6'0”, 185, Holton, ‘26

Wilson is listed as a kicker in our ranking and is ranked No. 173 overall. I didn't get to see him kick during the game, but he looked good in warmups. He also punts for Holton and had a couple of big boots in the first half. He is someone I will recommend that our specialist scout Devin Antcil takes a look at. He did connect on his lone extra-point attempt in the second half.

[player_tooltip player_id='1528531' first='Caleb' last='McCrory'], DL, 5'9”, 275, Holton, ‘26

McCrory was nowhere on my radar heading into the game, but this young man could be a beast. He starts on the defensive line for Holton. He looks bigger than 5-foot-9 in pads and moves well for his size. He had a couple of nice tackles and a quarterback sack in the first half. He needs to improve his physical conditioning and work on controlling his emotions. If he channels everything in the right direction and works hard this offseason, he could project to be a Division II prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115433' first='Kyler' last='Jackson'], RB/LB, 5'1”, 175, Holton, ‘25

Jackson is currently ranked No. 417 overall by Prep Redzone but is an interesting prospect. The first thing I noticed about him was that he is built like a professional wrestler, but then I found out he has a college offer to wrestle. He is tough and plays unselfish football. His recruitment is open and he is interested in playing college football or competing in wrestling.
