Another week of the prep season is in the books and athletes in the eight-man ranks continue to post impressive performances.

Here is a quick look at five prospects from Kansas eight-man programs and a preview of games scheduled for week six.

[player_tooltip player_id='442850' first='Brayden' last='Lawson'], QB/DE, 6'2”, 190, Marmaton Valley, ‘25

Lawson is one of the top quarterbacks in the eight-man ranks. He has thrown for over 1,000 yards through five games. He has connected with teammates for 17 passing touchdowns. The senior signal-caller has rushed for 245 yards and seven touchdowns. Lawson has taken snaps for Marmaton Valley since his freshman season, so any college coach looking for a quarterback with experience should look at Lawson. Marmaton Valley (4-1) will host Waverly (2-3) in week six.

Johnathan Schroeder, QB/DB, 5'11”, 160, Oxford, ‘25

The Oxford Wildcats are riding a three-game win streak heading into week six. Schroeder has been guiding an efficient offense for Oxford. He has thrown for 423 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 272 yards and five touchdowns. Oxford (4-1) host Kiowa County (2-3) in a Division 1 District 5 contest on October 11.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466325' first='Dane' last='Winters'], WR/DB, 5'10”, 158, Burlingame, ‘25

Burlingame heads into week six still undefeated and racking up yards through the air. Winters through four games as made 23 receptions for 405 yards and nine touchdowns. Burlingame outscored Lebo 50-0, and while the stats for that game were not updated on Max Preps at publication time, I would imagine Winters added to his numbers in the lopsided win. The Wildcats will head to Hartford to face the winless Jaguars.

Ryder Allen, DL/RB, 6'0”, 168, St. John's-Tipton, ‘25

One eight-man defender having a solid season is the unranked Allen. Through five games he has recorded 43 total tackles. He also makes plays for the Blujays' Defense with two fumble recoveries and one interception. The Blujays are still looking for their first win of the season and face Thunder Ridge on the road in week six.

Dorian Cullwell, RB/LB, 5'8”, 250, Rawlins County, ‘27

Culwell has rushed for 419 yards and eight touchdowns in five games for the Buffaloes. He is making plays on both sides of the ball for Rawlins County. His speed has helped him get to the quarterback for five sacks. He has 31 total tackles, six tackle-for-loss, an interception, and one fumble recovery. Rawlins County is 2-0 in district play and 4-1 overall. The go on the road in week six for a key matchup against St. Francis (3-2).
