Stock Risers, New Additions after this Past Weekend's Travel 9/13

Stock Risers    Already have George Washington's [player_tooltip player_id='953518' first='Jakai' last='Stevenson'] ranked relatively well among 2027 peers prior to the live evaluation. Stevenson caught an out route in this one for a nice chunk of yardage. I came away more impressed by Stevenson's two-way abilities. Stevenson came up huge in run support, he's a better tackler than I imagined. Ranked as a WR, more reps tackling in space, and Stevenson will likely move to "ATH".     The game was out of reach early into it, yet Avon Grove's [player_tooltip player_id='940944' first='Jose' last='Sabastro'] was able to leave a mark in this one. Owen J. Roberts flocked to the football and made sure any splash plays were shut down quickly. Sabastro was a good outlet for Hoogerwerff, catching three balls near the LOS. Sabastro also racked up a respectable 30-40 yards on the ground. Sabastro looked solid when given a chance.     Owen J. Roberts cashed in on more opportunities while they had the football, leading to the Avon Grove offense playing catch-up for the majority of the game. That being said, Hoogerwerff looked great overall. The senior quarterback hit targets 40-45 yards downfield on numerous occasions, flashing his arm talent and vertical range. Saw all three levels of the field well. Calm in the pocket, I witnessed Hoogerwerff deliver a seam ball for a score while being pressured in the pocket, the score and pressure around him didn't affect his accuracy or vision much. OJR dominated the time of possession battle, yet Hoogerwerff impressed with each passing drive. Hoogerwerff managed to utilize his legs a bit in this one too. I came away pleased with the young man's performance.     [player_tooltip player_id='917151' first='Kyseem' last='Cooper'] was a young man who caught my eye in pre-game warmups. Physique/build looked good. Looked like a OLB type yet was working on catching balls with Boys Latin's QB. Cooper is ranked on our site, a senior ranked relatively low. Despite George Washington going up big in this one, I liked what I saw out of Cooper overall. I think his game is a bit better than his ranking suggests. 6'0, 200 pounds, experience playing OLB/TE/RB/DL. Cooper's presence was most felt when aligned at DE/OLB. About two TFLs registered in this one, he did a good job containing outside runs. Washington deployed a QB who looked to run more time than not, so Cooper holding down the strong side helped. Cooper also caught two/three passes in this one if my memory serves me right. Good performance.     Patrick Wright is arguable Washington's best prospect, the rankings need to reflect this, it doesn't currently. Wright was damn near unblockable when aligned at LB in this one. Wright is the type of athlete that can play S/CB/ILB/OLB/EDGE in the Public League, he's that good of an all-around football player. Washington stations Wright in the middle and lets him play freely after the snap. Wright shows off a fantastic understanding of gap scheme. Smart kid who shoots the right gaps at the right time. His experience on offense, specifically at back, has to help him understand offensive flow when aligned at backer. Wright scored a touchdown in this one too, he compiled a good 50-75 yards on the ground if I had to guess. A fall forward type of back, a prospect who I wouldn't be surprised to see get PSAC love.     Really pleased with what I saw out of senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='281256' first='Corey' last='Schock']. Two touchdowns accounted for, one on the ground and one through the air. On our Watchlist due to a lack of tape, it's great seeing him progress each and every week. Schock orchestrated the offense well, an attack predicated on running the football with [player_tooltip player_id='1180686' first='Mekhi' last='Graham']. OJR found a good rhythm blending in passing sets, with Schock having a great sense of what he should be doing with the football. Schock took what was given, all the while proving he can cash in on splash/impromptu plays with [player_tooltip player_id='1180694' first='Matthew' last='Gregory'] downfield. Also proving he can create with his legs, either inside the red zone to score or move the chains, or in sprint-out situations. Excited to get him on our rankings sooner rather than later.     Loved what I saw out of [player_tooltip player_id='1322353' first='Donnie' last='Stephens'] this past weekend. A prospect I want to get off the Watchlist and onto our Rankings as soon as possible. A safety, one who can be utilized on offense, that can lurk inside of ten yards of the LOS. A missile, this kid can read and react like a backer and is unafraid to meet BCs in the trenches. Stephens laid two huge hits in this one, the kid is a tone setter who can provide energy and juice to this defense. Stephens can be trusted to man the backend as well, Stephens can run to keep the top on a defense, he can also cover what's in front of him well. All offensive reps are icing on the cake, this senior is a DB more than anything. Excited to plug in his tape with each passing week.        New Additions & Future Rankees    Massive lineman who suited up to play right tackle in the game against Boys Latin. I'm unsure if this performance alone is enough for Mohammad to land on our ranks in the future, yet I came away writing his name on my notes. Might be a name to watch to add to our DL lists, yet I want to see more before adding the young man. Mohammad was on the good end of many reps that sprang open some big plays in the run game. I'll stash his name for now.     All-Pub lineman who missed being ranked on our site due to limited tape as a junior. A name that will likely land on our ranks, [player_tooltip player_id='1506917' first='Martin' last='Gorstkiy'] provided plenty of great center reps this past weekend, steering defenders into desired areas and eating up would-be interior pressure on passing downs. A team captain, Gorstkiy can also provide IDL reps, quality ones at that. Boys Latin couldn't run between the tackles much, large in part due to Gorstkiy and others clogging up holes as they appeared. I came across this young man last year and was impressed, as a senior, he's already done enough to force my hand. Exited to see where he ranks among his peers with further study.     The man with the ball in his hands for the majority of this football game, [player_tooltip player_id='1506920' first='Tyson' last='Scott'] was tasked with being the man behind center. Scott was tasked with leading this offense down the field for scores. With the help of his line, he and Wright did just that. George Washington would lead this one by a score of 21-0 at one point, thanks to the GDub defense, as well as Scott's prowess with the ball in his hands. Scott would read to keep on a read-option set. This pull would have Scott running through the B-gaps for a score from about 30-yards out. Scott would also score using his legs on a boot inside of the BL goal line. Washington felt comfortable calling QB power sets all-day long, kid could have a future at back at the D3 level. Excited to learn more about the senior athlete.     Must have heard [player_tooltip player_id='1506922' first='Zach' last='Sheridan']'s name called a dozen times in this one. Yes, OJR ran for what feels like over 200 rushing yards, yes this game got out of hand quickly. The main reason I attend games is to find new names, I may have found one in senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1506922' first='Zach' last='Sheridan']. If [player_tooltip player_id='1180686' first='Mekhi' last='Graham'] was put down near the LOS, it's likely Sheridan was in the mix in some fashion. This tape alone won't get him on our ranks, some quality reps taken and witnessed in person will help his cause.         [player_tooltip player_id='1506926' first='Dylan' last='Lopapa'] and the above mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1506924' first='Sebastian' last='Binstead'] were on the receiving end of numerous throws out of [player_tooltip player_id='469425' first='Frank' last='Hoogerwerff']. Hoogerwerff did his part, yet both Lopapa and Binstead came down with not so easy catches, Lopapa especially. Avon Grove's senior quarterback gave Lopapa chance after chance downfield, so long as the coverage called for it. Lopapa would answer the call and come down with difficult catches downfield. Lopapa likely ended the night with 80-100 yards receiving, with Binstead coming away with a score late in this one. Each will have profiles created, each will be studied further for potential ranking down the line.     [player_tooltip player_id='1506928' first='Dylan' last='Laganelli'] recorded a sack and numerous run stuffs near the LOS. Can likely serve as a TE/WR option for Avon Grove, yet his OLB/EDGE reps impressed me more than anything. 6'4, a lean 200 pounds, we might have a legitimate prospect here worthy of sharing to college coaches recruiting the area. Arm length, understands how to set the edge, is familiar with the passing game so can be tasked with dropping into a zone behind the line to gain. Big body who is just three/four games into his junior year. Happy I was able to find this kid before his senior year. Laganelli did enough to catch my eye, hopefully the rest of his tape on Hudl will retain my attention come time to update these rankings.
