Another fantastic week at the Section V level to where teams had explosive offensive showing. There were a lot of back-and-forth battles, and teams that were able to put on a fight against their opponent. Take a deep dive below at what teams and players caught my eye this week.

09/13 McQuaid Jesuit vs Rush Henrietta:

It was a top notch showing for RB [player_tooltip player_id='1283957' first='Allen' last='Nesmith'] through both the receiving and ground game for McQuaid Jesuit. Nesmith had a quick 60-yard TD run in the first and then a 48-yard receiving TD on a 3rd & 15 where Nesmith was streaming down the sideline wide open. Will DiMarco was the QB who delivered with 153 passing yards in the 36 to 36 win. Rush Henrietta also had some players who made some incredible plays including WR #2, [player_tooltip player_id='1582069' first='Jahquin' last='Brown'] who had 2 incredible over the shoulder catches with a DBs draped all over him and a 28-yard TD catch. The QB who delivered some of the throws was [player_tooltip player_id='1363999' first='Brendan' last='Mangone'] and he showed off how strong his arm is in this game. A really awesome game that was a lot of fun to watch.

09/13 Irondequoit vs Webster-Thomas:

It was a fast-starting game for the Irondequoit offense led by QB Taiden Makubirke and Joshua Barr as they connected for an early 45-yard play-action TD pass. It was a play where Barr was able to take a quick pass to a house due to his blazing speed after the catch was made. Later on, the duo connected on a deep 56-yard TD connection to extend their lead out even more in the 2nd quarter. [player_tooltip player_id='1283927' first='Myles' last='Wynn'] also got into the action with a 60-yard jet-sweep that he took to the house. A huge defensive interception by DB Cooper Moore set up the 34-yard dagger TD throw to WR [player_tooltip player_id='1513229' first='Brien' last='Walker']. Irondequoit had 498 total yards in a 56 to 36 high scoring affair over Webster-Thomas to close out their Friday.

09/13 Brighton vs Webster-Schroeder:

Such a collective effort by Brighton on both sides of the football when they took on Webster-Schroeder. RB [player_tooltip player_id='527732' first='Gavin' last='Parks'] started it off on the offensive side of the football with a 23-yard TD run in the first quarter. Then a sack/safety by DE Miller Burrows led to two more points. [player_tooltip player_id='527732' first='Gavin' last='Parks'] did not stop there because he added a 4-yard TD run to extend the lead up to 15-0. The Brighton defense made sure they added a touchdown as well with a pick-six by LB [player_tooltip player_id='1213835' first='Matthew' last='Heininger']. Brighton walked out of the game with a 37 to 20 victory over a hard-fought Webster-Schroeder team.

09/13 Gates Chili vs Spencerport

A tug-of-war battle here between Gates Chili and Spencerport. The final score had Spencerport coming out winning 21-20. There was a huge catch and run TD for WR Amir Davis where he was able to take it to the house for 80-yards. The other player who was able to put together a few nice plays was [player_tooltip player_id='820167' first='Kaleb' last='Giddens']. Giddens had a quick 40-yard and then 51-yard reception where he was able to make a couple of defenders miss to pick up extra yardage. Trimaine Pulley also was a force on the defensive side with 12 tackles and 1 recorded sack.
