New Prospects Making Noise, To Be Ranked - Film Review Notes

We are closing out September, and it is a great time to look at early highlights from new prospects that have emerged from across the region. The players below are all new to Scouting New England Scouts. They have all been evaluated and will be ranked within the Prep Redzone New England current ranking classes during the next rankings update. Their early production this season will likely spark their current and future recruitment activities with college programs.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    In three games played, the Junior has completed 41 passes from 60 attempts for a total of 678 passing yards. His early season stat line has drawn our attention. However, this early in the season, the only film we have on him his from a team game highlight reel on September 27, 2024.   Film Review Notes: A pro syle qb with command presence in the pocket. Proficient ability to throw receivers open and execute the back shoulder throw. Can deliver the out route with good velocity and accuracy. Has an impressive frame with good mechanics. He will be added to class of 2026 rankings during the next update period. Long and rangy prospect.. He plays consistently to the whistle. Lawson makes good use of his hands and can bend to make different moves. The 2nd clip in his week 2 highlight film shows he willingness and strength to take on blocks while reading and reacting to ball carrier. He does so while still maintaining his edge responsibilities. There are no clips to accurately gauge his speed, however he did display long strides while running after the catch and into the endzone on the first clip of his week 2 highlight film. Very good looking prospect. He will be added to class of 2026 rankings during the next update period. He has the speed and skill set, to beat defenders and turn the corner on the perimeter. In a season game on 9 14/24, the junior hauled in six catches for 91 yards, punctuated by TDs of 23 and 30 yards. He also had 8 tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 1 interception on defense in a game this season.   Film review: Issley is surely an athlete. He has clips of playing DB and WR. Impressive skill set on both sides of the ball. I'll also note his ability to be an effective returner. His speed popped out to my attention when i viewed the first clip in his highlights from his game vs Lowell high School. A fluid athlete with good college career potential. However, he may pan out at the college level in baseball as he is also a very good baseball prospect. Ilsley will be added to class of 2026 rankings during the next update period. I like his command presence. I'm impressed by his field vision to scan the field, while being poised in the pocket and deliveing with accuracy. He is disciplined. If he cant find a open target, he will scan to find the open receiver. Has good ball placment. He can get the ball out on the perimeter quickly with accuracy. The film he does have from this 2024 season displays he is comfortable making throws in the pocket with accuracy. He can escape the pocket and accurately deliver the out-route throw on the run. Ball placement stands out and pops. O'keefe will be added to c/o 2027 rankings during the next rankings update period.      [player_tooltip player_id='1512158' first='Jayzair' last='Barbera'] is off to a great start this season. In three games played, the senior has attempted 67 passes for 917 yards. He caught our attention this week after completing 9 of 13 passes for 301 yards and 5 touch touchdowns to help lead his team to a 1-0 record. He doesn't have any recent films to evaluate.   Film Review Note: A peak at his 2023 highlight film displays an athlete behind center with dual-threat QB skills who can make players miss when he tucks it and runs. He can deliver the out-route throw with accuracy and on the run. He knows when to escape the pocket when needed while keeping his eyes downfield for an open target. Film Review Note: The first clip in his 1st 2024 season game film displays an RPO laser dart to an inside release slot receiver with good accuracy and ball placement. Surely, it is a clip that makes one go, "Wow." He is very comfortable in the pocket, and the ball comes out quickly with good mechanics. He will be added to class of 2025 rankings during the next update period.
