Massachusetts Sophomore Film Room: New Stockrisers

A quick look at some players that have made a splash this season.    Schandler runs smooth routes and does a good job of attacking the ball in the air. He can make plays on the boundary or in traffic, and does a good job of catching with his hands. He can break the first tackle, or run away from defenders. He shows a large catch radius, and has good IQ to come back to the QB when the play breaks down. Size, skill, and good feet make Schandler an obvious choice to improve his ranking. He shows some good skills on film.      Cale has a quick release and moves well in the pocket. He can drive the ball down field, and also fit it into tight windows. He is also accurate on the run, and can get to the sticks with his feet. He plays with good vision, and makes good decisions with the ball. Lots to see with this young QB. He has developed nicely since last year, and continues to show lots of growth. He will be fun to watch this summer.      Eli has grown from a back up last year to a starter on both sides of the ball. On offense, he gets hands on defenders quickly and plays with a wide base. He uses his hands well in pass pro, and looks to finish blocks in the run game. On defense, he is not as polished, but gets a good push into the backfield, and can handle blockers of any size. He shows good strength and was an anchor on the line helping his team to a New England Championship. Lots of improvement year to year; Eli is expected to have another big summer.      Dash has made a big jump from freshman year. He shows better lateral movement, and get to the ball carrier much quicker. He does a good job of reading lineman, and take on blocks much better to get into gaps. He also shows improved tackling, bringing a little more pop to the play and wraps up well. Lots to see with this young linebacker. He appears to be a bit bigger, but his technique has improved from last year. Another player I expect to see move up the ranking this spring/summer.      Blaise plays with a quick first step and gets hands on defenders quickly. He plays with a good base and looks to finish blocks in the run game. He uses his hands well in pass protection, and does a good job of moving his feet to stay with his block. Young, but shows some skills. He is a player to watch this summer.      Cooper shows a good first step and a nose for the football. He plays with good vision, and can take on blockers of any size. He does a good job of getting into gaps and wraps up well when tackling. He can make the play between the tackles or in space. He has good size for a linebacker and moves well from sideline to sideline. He should def earn some attention this spring/summer.      Fogo has quick feet and has a burst to get tot he LOS quickly. He shows good cuts, and has breakaway speed. He also can break tackles at the line or in space. Fogo also shows good hands catching from the backfield, and can make plays all over the field. He is very tough to bring down when he gets a head of steam, and can also use a mix of moves to evade defenders. Lots to see with this young running back. He shows lots of potential.
