Defensive Standout Performances and Plays from Week 1

He has a natural sense of when to make a play on the ball and can outjump most WRs he will face to win at the point of attack. On the play, D'rhon showed his Zone coverage processing by reading the eyes of the QB and making a break on the ball as the QB began his throwing motion to step in front of the receiver to secure the interception. From there, his athleticism led him 96 yards to the end zone. See the clip below. He posted 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 2 tackles for loss. Showed his quickness off the line in his initial steps in pass rush, cornering the offensive tackle and finishing the play with the sack. Ashton had himself a game securing 2 interceptions, pass break ups, and hard tackles from his safety position. I have been high on him ever since I saw him at the <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/05/top-virginia-prospects-from-the-appalachia-prep-combine/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Appalachia Prep Combine</a> this summer. This game shows that he transferrs his workouts onto the field and is a dominant player for Rustburg on both offense and defense.
